Boss, the New Intern Is Your Wife

Lin Zhixia rushes to the civil affairs office, hoping an arranged, paid marriage will cover her grandmother's urgent surgery. Meanwhile Lu Yuheng faces a family ultimatum to marry before turning 26, with secretary Leonardo Mello scouting candidates for him. The two collide right outside the registry, setting their mix-up marriage in motion.

Lin Zhixia and Lu Yuheng register their marriage at the civil affairs office, but a mix-up over the payment — eighty thousand instead of the promised millions — sparks tension. They agree to meet again in a year to divorce, and a sudden phone call hints the split might come sooner than planned.

Lin Zhixia searches for her marriage certificate and finds her grandmother used it to steady a wobbling table leg. At the office, secretary Leonardo has prepared anniversary gifts, but Lu Yuheng announces he plans to divorce — then has Leonardo deliver the gifts to her anyway.

Leonardo delivers Lu Yuheng's anniversary gifts, and Lin Zhixia jokes about her generous husband. A doctor then calls to say her grandfather secretly stopped treatment and returned home, leaving her shaken. Minutes later she gets an unexpected call inviting her to a same-day interview at Lu Yuheng's company, and she rushes to get ready.

Rushing to her interview at Lu Yuheng's company, Lin Zhixia accidentally bumps into an older man who claims close ties to Lu Yuheng, causing an awkward scene. After she apologizes, he's won over by her sincerity and wishes her luck. While waiting, she chats with another candidate, hoping a spot in the secretarial department might bring her closer to Lu Yuheng.

Though still recovering, Lu Yuheng's grandfather returns to the company and presses his grandson to finally introduce his wife. Impressed by Lin Zhixia during her interview, he orders secretary Leonardo Mello to hire her despite company policy. Unaware of this order, Lu Yuheng confronts her over an earlier incident and flatly rejects her application.

Lin Zhixia is assigned to the administration department instead of design, then confronted by a jealous coworker who accuses her of seducing the boss for a promotion. The clash turns physical, and the colleague demands she be fired. Lu Yuheng arrives and announces he personally hired her, defending her in front of everyone.

Vitor Campos begs to keep his job but Lu Yuheng fires him on the spot. Lu Yuheng then studies Lin Zhixia with a flicker of recognition, summons Leonardo Mello, and asks for his marriage certificate while pressing for the name of the woman arranged for him a year ago — the answer is Clara, a quiet clue to her true identity.

Lu Yuheng's marriage certificate is missing, and Vitor Campos begs a female director to save his job — she agrees, but only if he gets rid of Lin Zhixia. The director then privately vows to drive off any woman who tries to take Lu Yuheng from her, hinting at a hidden rival closing in on Lin Zhixia.

Lin Zhixia is accused of swapping real gemstones for fakes to damage the company's reputation. She insists the documents just arrived and that she only took them to the tea room, following secretary Leonardo Mello's orders. Vitor Campos presses the attack while Lu Yuheng looks on, and the long-broken security cameras turn out to have been repaired.

Security footage proves Vitor Campos framed Lin Zhixia, and he admits he only wanted her fired before being taken away to answer for it. Despite being cleared, the company still dismisses her for negligence. Amid the chaos, a lost marriage certificate surfaces, revealing Lu Yuheng is secretly already married.

Lin Zhixia fends off coworkers pressing her about a mysterious husband. Lu Yuheng then calls, asking to postpone their divorce by a month and have her pose as his wife to meet his grandfather. The call also reveals both of them have lost their marriage certificates.

On a call, Lin Zhixia and Lu Yuheng confirm they both lost their marriage certificates. When secretary Leonardo mentions that Lu Yuheng's own certificate is also missing, Lin Zhixia briefly wonders if he could be her mysterious husband. Noticing she sounds upset, he learns she was just fired, though she insists she will not give up easily.

Office gossip about Lu Yuheng's mysterious wife pulls Lin Zhixia into the spotlight, right before she is ordered to pack up and leave the company immediately. Refusing to back down, she digs into his schedule and learns he is negotiating a partnership with Senhor Morales, hinting she already has a plan.

Lin Zhixia tracks Lu Yuheng down to his favorite restaurant with hangover medicine, hoping to prove herself and clear her name over the Vitor Campos sabotage. An awkward tumble leaves them tangled together just as Leonardo walks in. Lu Yuheng then reveals the real reason she was fired, missing swapped documents, and she challenges him to a bet.

Lin Zhixia proposes a one-month bet to Lu Yuheng: prove herself as his assistant and earn a permanent transfer to the design team, or fail and pay him six months salary. He studies the deposit card she hands over, oddly familiar, then agrees to give her one last chance starting tomorrow.
