CEO, Your Wife Is a Secret Boss

Jiang Yulan is brought home and formally meets her grandparents as their granddaughter. Her grandmother is overjoyed, while her eldest brother is tied up with the company and her second brother is away on military duty. Her sister offers to look after her.

Mother Gu coldly instructs Jiang Yulan to put the family's interests first. When Grandma Gu asks her to change her surname to Gu, Jiang Yulan insists on keeping Jiang to honor her adoptive mother. Mother Gu sends assistant Feng Shen to teach her the rules, but Jiang Yulan dismisses her for her arrogant attitude.

Gu Nuan gives Jiang Yulan her treasured jade Buddha, pretending to be generous while privately vowing to drive her out. Jiang Yulan tries to return it, but Grandma Gu insists she keep it. When Gu Dongying sees the Buddha is gone, he assumes his sister was bullied and storms off to confront Jiang Yulan.

Gu Dongying storms in and accuses Jiang Yulan of stealing Gu Nuan's jade Buddha in front of Grandpa Gu. Jiang Yulan tries to discuss her enrollment at First High School, but Gu Dongying cuts her off, escalating the confrontation.

Gu Nuan claims she gave the jade Buddha to her sister and urges Grandpa Gu not to let it harm family harmony. Grandma Gu reveals that Yulan already brought the Buddha to her yesterday, exposing Gu Nuan's attempt to stir up conflict. Gu Nuan then offers to give it up, still playing the victim.

Gu Nuan offers a false apology, claiming she gave the jade Buddha willingly and blaming her brother for the misunderstanding. Jiang Yulan calmly repeats Gu Nuan's earlier words, revealing that Gu Nuan pressured her to accept it and is now twisting the story.

Jiang Yulan thanks her grandparents for upholding justice, then privately admits she used Gu Nuan's outburst to test the family's sincerity. If they truly care, she will accept them; if they only favor Gu Nuan, she will walk away. Grandpa Gu punishes Gu Nuan and declares that Jiang Yulan will receive her rightful shares.

Feng Shen delivers eighteen belated birthday gifts, a premium black card, and a share agreement from the Gu family, saying the grandparents' gesture surpasses what the other grandchildren received. Jiang Yulan accepts them, then presents a special heart-protecting pill made by the renowned physician Sanshui as a return gift for her grandparents.

Grandpa Gu identifies the heart-protecting pill as a rare, genuine remedy by the physician Sanshui and declares Jiang Yulan the family's Fifth Young Miss. Gu Nuan tells her mother that Jiang Yulan framed her and fears losing the engagement. Mother Gu reassures her and informs Jiang Yulan that they will visit the Huo family the next day to discuss the marriage agreement.

Huo Yuan learns his brother has invited the Gu family to discuss Huo Sili's marriage. Uninterested, he orders a car to take Grandpa Huo away for some quiet. Mother Gu arrives with Jiang Yulan and Gu Nuan, remarking how much Jiang Yulan resembles her younger self, and openly favors her biological daughter over Gu Nuan.

Huo Yuan comes downstairs and finds Jiang Yulan left outside, mocking the Huo family for neglecting their future daughter-in-law. Mother Gu seizes the moment to propose swapping the engagement to Gu Nuan, but Huo Yuan flatly refuses, stating Jiang Yulan is not worthy of him.

Jiang Yulan is openly belittled by Huo Sili and Mu Xueqing as an uncultured outsider unworthy of the Huo family. She fires back, declaring she will initiate the annulment herself and promises to persuade Grandpa Huo within three days, severing all ties with Huo Sili.

Jiang Yulan finds Grandpa Huo gravely ill at a care facility and realizes he is too confused to discuss the annulment. She gives him a pill and prepares acupuncture, but Huo Yuan interrupts her. Medical tests then show Grandpa Huo's condition has miraculously improved.

Jiang Yulan tells Grandpa Huo she came to annul her engagement to Huo Sili, insisting she will only marry for mutual love. Grandpa Huo accepts her wish and orders Huo Yuan to take the marriage contract to the Gu family the next day and cancel the engagement on Huo Sili's behalf.

Jiang Yulan gives Grandpa Huo pills in private and reveals that someone has been poisoning him with small amounts of moldy food, causing chronic organ failure. Huo Yuan notices her medical skill and presses her about her training; she credits her teacher Qiao Xin. He orders an investigation into Qiao Xin, suspecting Yulan is the elusive Sanshui divine physician.

Huo Yuan's man reports that Qiao Xin is not the Sanshui divine physician and that Jiang Yulan's background is fragmented and unverifiable, raising suspicion. Grandpa Huo dismisses the doubts, tells Huo Yuan to pursue Yulan, and insists she remain part of the family.

Huo Yuan sends a man to deliver the annulled marriage contract, confirming Grandpa Huo approved the dissolution. Gu Nuan suspects Yulan manipulated the old man, but the messenger conveys Grandpa Huo's admiration, presents a five-hundred-million-yuan imperial jade as compensation, and invites Yulan to dinner.

Huo Yuan visits Jiang Yulan, noting the Gu family has housed her in a shabby place. He reveals Huo Sili poisoned Grandpa Huo and suspects Huo Zhenhua and his wife caused his own mother's death two years ago. He asks Yulan to get engaged as part of a plan to protect both families.

Huo Yuan asks Jiang Yulan to get engaged, promising that Grandpa Huo will then give him 30% of the shares and her 10%, with his 10% entrusted to her, making her the de facto controlling shareholder. Yulan says she needs to think it over, then secretly investigates Huo Yuan's background.

Jiang Yulan agrees to the fake engagement but sets three conditions: no harm to Gu family interests, the engagement expires in one year, and her freedom must not be restricted. Huo Yuan accepts all terms. As he drives her home, Gu Nuan and Huo Sili appear, and Gu Nuan publicly humiliates Yulan.

Huo Sili insults Jiang Yulan on the street and threatens to tell Grandpa Gu she has been seeing another man. Huo Yuan offers to explain in person, but Yulan refuses and insists on handling it herself. She returns to the Gu house alone, where Gu Nuan immediately accuses her of disgracing the family and urges their grandfather to send her back to Jiangcheng.

Jiang Yulan explains that the man in the car was Grandpa Huo's driver. Grandpa Gu forbids any further mention of the incident. He then announces a grand banquet to formally reintroduce Yulan to the family, which displeases Gu Nuan.

At the banquet to reintroduce Jiang Yulan to the family, her custom gown draws admiration from the guests, overshadowing Gu Nuan. Huo Sili taunts Yulan, who fires back, but Gu Beiye scolds her for causing a scene.

Gu Nuan vows revenge on Yulan for the earlier scene. Ji Yunhe introduces herself to Yulan, and they warm to each other. Gu Nuan offers a spiked juice as a fake apology, but Yulan catches the odd smell and exposes the attempt.

Chen Wan collapses and vomits blood after drinking juice at the Gu family gathering. She is diagnosed with Five Venoms poison, and her family accuses the Gu family of foul play. Ji Yunhe admits she cannot treat it, but Jiang Yulan gives Chen Wan a pill and begins bloodletting to save her.

Jiang Yulan has Chen Wan undressed and placed on her side, then performs an eighty-one-needle treatment to save her from the Five Venoms poison. After the toxins are nearly cleared, Chen Wan is sent to the hospital for recovery. Grandpa Gu apologizes publicly and promises the Gu family will find the poisoner and give everyone an answer.

The Gu family thanks Ji Yunhe and offers gifts, believing she performed the acupuncture that saved Chen Wan. Guests speculate that her skill marks her as the legendary Three-Water Miracle Doctor. Ji Yunhe turns to Jiang Yulan and asks the crucial question.

Ji Yunhe presses Jiang Yulan about the acupuncture technique, and Yulan admits she is the Three-Water Miracle Doctor but says she has retired. Ji Yunhe begs to become her disciple and is refused. Huo Yuan arrives to probe, and Yulan deflects credit to Ji Yunhe, hiding her own role.

Huo Yuan sees Jiang Yulan left alone at the banquet, underdressed, and drives her home; they exchange goodnights. Elsewhere, to cover her own poisoning of the juice, Gu Nuan tells her eldest brother Gu Beiye that she saw Yulan and Ji Yunhe plotting together, framing Yulan for the crime.

Gu Beiye confronts Jiang Yulan, who counters that the poisoned drink was meant for her by Gu Nuan. As Gu Nuan mocks her, Yulan demands the surveillance drive and laptop, claiming she can restore the deleted footage.

The restored surveillance footage confirms Gu Nuan spiked the drink. Confronted by Gu Beiye, she first claims ignorance, then says she grabbed it at random. He vows to investigate, but Jiang Yulan replies coldly that his misunderstanding cannot hurt her.

Grandpa Huo insists that Huo Yuan unbutton his shirt to reveal his abs, arguing that a hint of skin is the most alluring way to keep Jiang Yulan. Huo Yuan protests that their engagement is only a pretense, yet he puts on new shoes and cooks a meal for her. When Jiang Yulan arrives, Grandpa Huo hints that the dish holds a surprise.

Grandpa Huo apologizes for the hard object in the dish. Huo Yuan asks Jiang Yulan to try on a ring, insisting their act must be convincing. He walks her home and tells her he will come with Grandpa Huo to propose the next morning. Gu Nuan watches from the shadows, growing suspicious.

Father Gu learns the banquet poisoning was done by Mu Xueqing. Huo Sili admits fault and agrees to marry Gu Nuan soon. Jiang Yulan is rewarded for recovering the surveillance footage. Gu Nuan assumes Grandpa Huo's visit is to propose for her, but Grandpa Huo and Huo Yuan arrive to propose for Jiang Yulan instead.

Grandpa Huo arrives with shares, a hundred million in betrothal gifts, and property deeds. Grandpa Gu assumes the proposal is for Gu Nuan, but Grandpa Huo declares everything is for Jiang Yulan and his choice will not change.

Grandpa Huo arrives with lavish gifts, and Grandpa Gu assumes the proposal is for Gu Nuan. Grandpa Huo declares everything is for Jiang Yulan. Gu Nuan is dismissed after an outburst, and despite family concerns about seniority and Huo Yuan's ruthlessness, Jiang Yulan agrees to the engagement.

Huo Zhenhua and Mu Xueqing object to Huo Yuan returning to the company with shares. Grandpa Huo takes over as chairman and rules that each brother will run a subsidiary; the first to reach ten billion inherits. Huo Zhenhua raises the stakes with exile, and Huo Yuan accepts.

Gu Nuan hints to classmates that Jiang Yulan was a regular at the police station back in the countryside and may have killed someone. Zhan Wu suddenly shows up with special police, publicly thanking Yulan for saving him and his grandfather in battle and mentioning plans to bring her into the Zhan family.

Jiang Yulan reunites with Zhan Tianhe, who is recovering from a broken leg. She leaves medicine and promises a follow-up. Zhan Wu urges her not to settle for an ordinary life, but Yulan says she is honoring her mother's will; she still offers help if needed and receives a special Zhan-family badge. Gu Nuan threatens that if Grandma Gu learns Yulan was taken away by special police, she will be expelled and her engagement to Huo Yuan will be ruined.

Gu Nuan tells Grandma Gu that Jiang Yulan was taken by special police. Yulan explains that Zhan Wu invited her to visit General Zhan and shows the Zhan-family badge as proof. Grandma Gu's suspicions vanish; she gifts Yulan a bracelet and urges closer ties with the Zhan family.

Grandma Gu introduces Second Brother Gu Nanjun to Jiang Yulan. Gu Nuan mocks Yulan's manners. When Yulan says she is visiting General Zhan Tianhe, Grandma Gu asks Nanjun to accompany her and fetch a gift, which Yulan accepts as a one-time arrangement.

Jiang Yulan and Gu Nanjun arrive at the Zhan residence, where General Zhan Tianhe comes out to welcome them. Nanjun greets the general as a fellow officer, and the general praises his rank and invites them both inside.

Jiang Yulan beats General Zhan Tianhe at chess and jokingly demands he serve her tea. The old general calls her Princess and plays along. Watching their unrestrained rapport, Gu Nanjun is stunned by how much the general indulges her.

Gu Nanjun reflects on his neglect of his sister after seeing the general's high regard for her. Huo Yuan arrives to pick up Jiang Yulan as his fiancée and brings her to a gathering, where he orders his men to toast their new sister-in-law.

Huo Yuan's men discuss the legendary doctor Three Waters, recalling a voice-guided detox at the Gu banquet. Huo Yuan tests Jiang Yulan by asking about her travels five years ago; she deflects, and he teases her before driving her home.

Jiang Yulan recalls her adoptive mother's dying wish that she hide her skills and live as an ordinary person. That evening, Huo Yuan learns the legendary doctor Three Waters' account has been deleted and finds the timing suspicious. During weekend plans, Jiang Yulan says she will visit a classmate's herb field.

As Jiang Yulan prepares to leave, Gu Nuan tries to get Second Brother Gu Nanjun to drive her instead. Grandma scolds Gu Nuan for being unreasonable and tells Yulan she must speak up when Gu Nuan competes for her brothers' attention, or it will only get worse.

While driving, Gu Nanjun receives a police alert about a fugitive with a bandaged ear who hijacked a taxi and fled toward Huaihua Road. He tells Jiang Yulan to hold tight, says he must pursue, and warns her the car is bulletproof and to stay inside.

Gu Nanjun is shocked by Jiang Yulan's marksmanship; she explains General Zhan taught her. The suspect shot through the heart miraculously survives, and Gu Nanjun realizes only Yulan could have saved him in that moment, raising questions about her medical skill.

Gu Nanjun presents a limited-edition spring bag to Jiang Yulan as an apology and thanks. Gu Nuan assumes it is for her and reaches for it, but Nanjun clarifies it is for Yulan and scolds Nuan for always competing with her. Nuan asks if he no longer likes her now that he has a real sister, but Nanjun ignores her and leaves with Yulan.

Father Gu has Gu Beiye take Gu Nuan to a business meeting, while Jiang Yulan stays home. At the event, Gu Nuan schemes to make Huo Yuan sleep with another woman to humiliate Jiang Yulan. She spots Jiang Yulan there and plans to make her witness her fiancé's betrayal.

Gu Nuan gives a woman a knockout spray to use on Huo Yuan at the banquet. The woman intercepts Huo Yuan outside, confesses her feelings, and tries to seduce him.

Jiang Yulan gets Huo Yuan's room key from the front desk and enters room 802. She finds him drugged and unwell. Realizing he needs an antidote, she leaves to find one.

Jiang Yulan, as the divine physician, uses acupuncture to neutralize the drug in Huo Yuan, sending him into a deep sleep. Mu Xueqing arrives and admits she ordered the drugging, begging him not to retaliate.

Jiang Yulan learns Huo Yuan's car plunged off a cliff; the driver is dead and Huo Yuan is missing. She borrows a gun from Grandpa Huo and vows to bring him back.

Huo Yuan is betrayed by a man named Guo, who claims kidnappers forced his hand. Bleeding heavily from a wound, Huo Yuan hides and worries about how Jiang Yulan might grieve him. Armed men spread out to find and kill him for a lifetime reward.

Jiang Yulan locates the badly wounded Huo Yuan in hiding. He worries she is risking her life and tells her to leave, but she insists on staying and begins treating his wound. He admits he was glad to see her, and she tells him to stop talking.

Based on the killers' confessions, Grandpa Huo identifies Mu Xueqing's brother Mu Guangwei as the mastermind and suspects Huo Zhenhua and his wife are involved. He threatens to donate the entire Huo family business to the state to force out the truth. The doctor announces Huo Yuan is out of danger, and Grandpa Huo thanks Jiang Yulan for saving his life.

Huo Yuan wakes up and Jiang Yulan asks about his wound. They banter about her saving his life. Grandpa Huo walks in and teases Huo Yuan about his earlier refusal to marry her. Huo Yuan then states that the assassination is linked to Huo Zhenhua, but the killer has taken all the blame, making it impossible to act against the couple for now.

Mu Xueqing and Gu Nuan plot against Jiang Yulan. Mu Xueqing suggests hiring mercenaries through the dark web, where only its founder PKL can access client information. Later, she assures Mother Gu that the assassination attempt on Huo Yuan had nothing to do with her, then hints at taking ruthless action against Jiang Yulan.

Gu Beiye finds Jiang Yulan alone and offers to keep her company. She suggests visiting a mountain pool with koi, where he takes photos of her. Gu Nuan grows irritated that Huo Sili only pays attention to his sister, and the two leave together.

Jiang Yulan is seized and interrogated by unknown men. She calmly drinks tea and reveals their codename Huiyou, shocking them. She warns them to flee before she finishes her tea or face prison, just as a private fighter jet approaches.

Jiang Yulan paralyzes her captors with an unknown method and demands the employer's identity. They reveal the deal was made through the dark web and only Hacker L can trace it. She leaves with her second brother Gu Nanjun, already suspecting someone.

Huo Yuan rushes to Jiang Yulan after learning of her kidnapping and gives her a special phone that works without internet and has location tracking. He promises to give her an explanation, then takes her to meet someone—Mu Xueqing.

Huo Yuan has Mu Xueqing brought in and presents IP evidence traced from her dark-web ID, accusing her of hiring mercenaries to kidnap Jiang Yulan and ordering a hit on him. Mu Xueqing denies it, then begs, offering a billion and to restore the engagement. Jiang Yulan refuses and insists on legal punishment.

Huo Yuan takes Jiang Yulan out for a meal to celebrate Mu Xueqing's detention. Jiang Yulan wonders how he managed to hire the hacker, and Huo Yuan tells her his luck has improved since meeting her. As they toast again, Jiang Yulan remarks that once Huo Zhenhua is dealt with, Huo Yuan can reclaim the Huo family assets, and Huo Yuan asks whether their engagement will still count.

Huo Zhenhua demands that Gu Nuan leverage the Gu family's favoritism to force Jiang Yulan to drop the lawsuit, threatening to cancel her engagement to Huo Sili if she fails. Unwilling to lose the engagement, Gu Nuan promises to make Jiang Yulan withdraw the case and admits her own involvement in the kidnapping. She goes to Jiang Yulan to beg, but Jiang Yulan refuses outright.

Gu Nuan is turned away by her parents late at night. Inside, they decide blood ties are more reliable and plan a test for Gu Nuan's conscience before agreeing to make Jiang Yulan drop the lawsuit. Meanwhile, new trade rules hit the Gu family business, and all allowances are suspended.

Father Gu reveals the new trade rules affect only ten percent of the business and insists on secrecy to avoid stock turmoil. Gu Nuan offers to work early, while Jiang Yulan suggests exploring overseas markets, earning her brother's praise. The family privately compares the two daughters' loyalties, disagreeing over Gu Nuan's focus on the Huo family.

Gu Nuan calls Huo Zhenhua, claiming the new trade rules could bankrupt the Gu family, and asks him to intervene to pressure Jiang Yulan. She convinces herself it isn't a leak, but the news immediately trends, stocks plunge, and the family faces real ruin.

Gu Nuan arranges a meeting between her mother and Huo Zhenhua. He offers to save the Gu family on the condition that Mother Gu persuades Jiang Yulan to drop the matter of Mu Xueqing. When Mother Gu refuses, he turns hostile and detains her.

Huo Zhenhua pressures Mother Gu to persuade Jiang Yulan to drop the case, but she refuses. Gu Nuan admits to tipping off Huo Zhenhua and calls Jiang Yulan herself, threatening Mother Gu's safety to force an immediate withdrawal.

Gu Nuan and Huo Zhenhua threaten Mother Gu's life to force Jiang Yulan to withdraw the lawsuit. Huo Zhenhua further demands that Huo Yuan renounce his inheritance. To save her mother, Jiang Yulan agrees to everything while secretly forming a plan.

Mother Gu apologizes to Jiang Yulan, who says she holds no grudge but also needs no amends. Huo Zhenhua pressures Grandpa Huo to sign over shares, citing Huo Yuan's renunciation. Huo Yuan suddenly appears and declares Huo Zhenhua out for attempted fratricide and embezzlement.

Huo Zhenhua is taken away by police on charges including poisoning his father and plotting his brother's murder. Huo Yuan tricks Mu Xueqing into swallowing what she believes is poison, forcing her to confess. She tries to dismiss the video of her confession as fake, but forensic analysis confirms its authenticity.

Huo Yuan comes to take Jiang Yulan to the Huo family dinner, but she declines, needing to first return to the Gu family and speak with her eldest brother about company troubles. Huo Yuan advises her to buy Gu family stock, and she agrees. At the Gu home, Gu Nuan begs for forgiveness, but Mother Gu refuses, declaring their bond severed and Gu Nuan's name struck from the family register.

Gu Beiye tells Jiang Yulan that the Gu family is stuck on drone technology problems. Yulan offers to recruit experts from a state research institute. Beiye then receives a call confirming she has secured a top drone engineering academician, giving the family hope.

The Gu family thanks Jiang Yulan for saving the company. Grandpa Gu urges everyone to protect her, and her third brother Gu Dongying apologizes for misjudging her. Yulan later asks Huo Yuan if their engagement can be canceled now that he has reclaimed his assets; he agrees but privately admits he cannot let her go.

At her birthday banquet, Father Gu urges Huo Yuan to share the big news. Huo Yuan hesitates, saying he will respect Yulan's wishes about marriage. Yulan instead announces their engagement herself, explaining that her adoptive mother taught her to marry someone she trusts completely. She tells Huo Yuan he is that person and that she will try to love him.
