Forensic Bride: Married to My Ex's Uncle

Vivian arrives at Ryan's birthday party after officially becoming a forensic pathologist, only to overhear him tell a friend she reeks of the morgue and he would only marry her if she quit. She breaks up with him on the spot and calls out the real reason he never touched her in three years.

Vivian gets drunk at a bar and mistakes the rideshare driver Chloe sent for a delivery man, making an advance on him. She wakes up next to the stranger and panics, then receives a call from a man named Adrian Sterling, who claims she threw herself at him and is holding her work badge until she comes to retrieve it.

Adrian tells Dr. Morgan that the woman from last night made him feel something for the first time in thirty years. Morgan suggests marriage, and Adrian sees her as useful if she can give him an heir. When Vivian arrives to apologize, Adrian proposes on the spot, noting that people say she reeks of corpses and he reeks of money, so neither can judge the other.

Ryan confronts Vivian at her workplace, demanding she apologize for breaking up with him and mocking her as an orphan with a creepy job. Vivian stands firm that they are done. Enraged, Ryan boasts that his uncle is a world-famous tycoon and the Whitmore family is about to rise to the top.

Ryan boasts that his uncle Adrian founded Sterling Technologies and demands Vivian kneel and quit her forensic job. Vivian privately smirks, knowing Adrian proposed to her the night before. Her grandmother arrives, slaps Ryan for cheating, and then collapses.

Vivian agrees to get the marriage certificate with Adrian the next day. Her grandmother comforts her, relieved she saw Ryan's true nature. Right after they obtain the certificate, Vivian receives an urgent homicide call and postpones the celebration, promising to visit Adrian's home afterward.

Monica learns Adrian's condition is cured and that he has married. She calls the family, and Ryan and his mother Sandra plan to visit the next day with a gift for the new aunt. At a crime scene, Vivian determines the victim died from an accidental fall, not homicide.

The victim's father disputes Vivian's finding of accidental death and demands a full autopsy. Vivian agrees and has the consent form prepared. Late at night, Adrian calls and tells her to come straight to his place after work because his family wants to meet her.

At a family gathering, Ryan complains to his mother that his ex-girlfriend, a forensic pathologist, always smelled like a morgue. A relative mentions Adrian's new wife is also in forensics, but Ryan dismisses any similarity. Adrian's assistant then calls with the news that Vivian is Ryan's ex.

Vivian arrives at Adrian's house and is blocked by her ex-boyfriend Ryan. He accuses her of chasing him and mocks her marriage certificate as a fake. As they argue, someone comes out holding Adrian's certificate to check her photo.

The housekeeper confirms Vivian is Adrian's wife, leaving Ryan stunned as he reveals she is his ex-girlfriend from just yesterday. Adrian arrives and calmly states he knew about their past, then declares he was the one who pursued Vivian.

Adrian tells Vivian he married her precisely because he knew about her past with Ryan, and that he is her first man. Vivian admits her profession makes finding a partner difficult. Inside, Sandra orders a stunned Ryan to kneel and serve tea to his new aunt-in-law.

Sandra apologizes for Ryan and offers Vivian a family welcome gift. Vivian refuses unless Ryan kneels and apologizes to her grandmother. Under threat of losing his trust fund, Ryan kneels, serves tea, and calls Vivian his aunt.

Vivian suspects the welcome champagne Sandra offers is off and refuses to drink it. Sandra, offended, declares she will drink it herself, but Ryan's mother stops her. Vivian then suggests letting Ryan drink it instead, leaving the standoff unresolved.

Sandra suddenly collapses during the standoff and is rushed to the hospital. Vivian questions whether the champagne was poisoned, and Adrian vows to protect her. They then go to visit Vivian's hospitalized grandmother, only to find she has already checked herself out and gone home.

Vivian brings Adrian home to meet her grandmother, who is delighted by her handsome grandson-in-law and asks about his family and health. Meanwhile, Sandra admits to Ryan that she meant to poison Vivian but he drank the champagne instead, and Ryan vows never to forgive Vivian.

Adrian tells Grandma about his family and presents the Sterling family heirloom, an 18th-century French royal sapphire necklace, as a betrothal gift. Grandma worries it might be illegal until she learns he is Ryan's biological uncle, then accepts it, making Vivian the official matriarch of the Sterling family.

Vivian and a colleague finalize an autopsy report, confirming the woman died from an accidental fall. Ryan shows up at the morgue, demanding she leave Adrian and offering to marry her. Vivian refuses, says she has fallen in love with Adrian, and reveals she spent the night of their breakup with him at a hotel.

Adrian takes a call from a neighbor during a meeting, who complains that no one believes Vivian is married. He ends the meeting and goes to her. Neighbors mock Vivian for marrying a loser, until Adrian arrives and makes his identity known.

Adrian arrives to find neighbors still mocking Vivian, claiming he is a hired actor and that Vivian rides an electric scooter to work. He declares he is Vivian's legal husband and challenges one neighbor to call her son and ask who the boss of ST Group is.

Adrian asks the neighbor for her son's name, then calls Marcus to locate Victor Wong and order him to phone his mother and apologize to Vivian's grandmother within ten minutes, or be fired. The neighbor scoffs until Victor calls in a panic, begging her to apologize immediately or he will lose his job.

Vivian's grandmother demands she come home immediately and confronts Adrian about why a wealthy man would marry her granddaughter. Adrian explains his genuine respect for Vivian's career and values, and reveals his mother already approves. Satisfied, the grandmother agrees to let Vivian move in with him that night, and Adrian instructs his household to prepare a room.

Vivian's grandmother urges her to move in with Adrian that night and have a child with him as soon as possible. She produces a packet of ancestral aphrodisiac, explaining that crushing it into an aromatherapy burner releases a scent that induces estrus in animals for efficient breeding, and declares she will use it on Adrian.

Vivian arrives at Adrian's home, where Sandra warmly welcomes her and insists she call her Mom. After having the luggage put away, Sandra orders the staff not to disturb them no matter what sounds come from Adrian's room tonight.

Vivian tells Adrian to shower first while she organizes the luggage. She notices a rich fragrance in the room and assumes it is for relaxation, but soon finds herself having inappropriate thoughts about Adrian. Adrian realizes the incense is tainted and warns her not to inhale it.

Adrian realizes the incense has been tampered with and suspects an inside job, so he goes to confront his mother. Vivian feels dizzy and feverish, and Adrian confirms the fragrance is an aphrodisiac that a cold shower cannot fix. Outside the door, his grandmother murmurs with satisfaction, looking forward to a grandchild.

Adrian tells Vivian not to blame his mother, though Vivian still finds the trick despicable. His mother appears and insists Adrian drive Vivian to work. When coworker Claire spots Vivian stepping out of a luxury car, Vivian hastily claims it was a ride-share.

Claire presses Vivian about the man in the luxury car, and Adrian steps in to introduce himself as Vivian's husband. Stunned by the sudden marriage, Claire learns the wedding will happen within the year. Adrian exchanges contact information with Claire, a move Vivian's friend recognizes as a way to keep tabs on her.

Adrian learns of office gossip that he has a godmother and decides to announce his marriage soon, ordering Marcus to plan a grand wedding. Meanwhile, Ryan complains to his mother Sandra that the wedding will make it harder to break them up, but Sandra feigns illness and goes to a church to pray for Vivian's pregnancy.

Vivian feels nauseous while eating a pork bun at the office, then is called to the East River for a highly decomposed, bloated corpse. After arriving, she suddenly vomits, and Chloe wonders aloud if she could be pregnant.

Vivian sees a doctor for nausea and a late period, and an ultrasound confirms she is pregnant. The doctor advises rest and avoiding intercourse in early pregnancy. Chloe is stunned by the news, while Sandra overhears and resolves to prevent Vivian from having the baby to protect her son's chances.

Vivian answers Adrian's phone and a woman claims a special relationship with him, telling Vivian she is unworthy and that Adrian would never have married her if she hadn't gone abroad to study. Adrian returns to his office and coldly tells the upset woman to see a doctor and stop bothering him.

Monica barges into Adrian's office and belittles Vivian, claiming she is unworthy of him. Adrian orders her out. Overhearing this, Vivian decides to keep her pregnancy a secret for now. Later, Chloe asks about the test results, and Vivian admits she is pregnant.

Adrian grows worried when Vivian is unreachable, and Marcus urges him to go pick her up and humble himself. Meanwhile, Ryan learns from Sandra that Vivian is pregnant, and they decide to use Monica, who has just returned to the country, as a weapon to get rid of the baby.

Adrian presses Vivian on why she missed his call and assures her he was just busy with work. Vivian asks about the woman she saw him with earlier and then abruptly asks if the wedding is still on, which Adrian promises will be grand. Before she can say more, they are interrupted, and Adrian, sensing her unease, decides to buy her a gift with Marcus.

Ryan tells Monica that Vivian is a low-class forensic pathologist who schemed her way into Adrian's bed for revenge. Monica vows to teach her a lesson. At work, a colleague reveals to Vivian that her husband Adrian is the country's richest man, leaving her stunned at how little she knows about him.

Vivian tells Chloe she hasn't told Adrian about the pregnancy. Monica calls to demand a meeting and settle things once and for all. Vivian decides to go alone, unaware that Monica and her friends are plotting to humiliate her.

Vivian arrives alone and finds Monica has brought a group to gang up on her. When they threaten her, she reveals the tools she is carrying and warns that if they touch her, she will saw off a leg.

Chloe calls Adrian to warn him that Monica has taken Vivian away and she fears Vivian will be bullied. Adrian leaves immediately upon hearing the news, while Monica's group is intimidated by Vivian's fierce demeanor and hesitates to attack.

Monica pressures the restaurant manager to confiscate the tools in Vivian's bag, calling them weapons. Vivian presents her forensic pathologist certificate, explains the tools are for work, and points out that Monica summoned her. Monica orders the food served and asks what else is in the bag.

Vivian explains her rib cutter, skull hammer, scalpels, and a ladle for scooping body fluids. Monica and her companions lose their appetite and leave. As Monica starts to warn Vivian to stay away from someone, Adrian appears and demands to know how she dares bully his wife.

Adrian catches Monica confronting Vivian and orders her to kneel. Monica claims Vivian's dissection tools terrified her, but Adrian dismisses her. He warns Monica to stay away from his wife and stop spreading rumors, or he will bankrupt the Sinclair family.

Back at the morgue, Chloe anxiously checks on Vivian and admits she called Adrian. Vivian recounts how Adrian made Monica kneel and says she wants to observe him further before revealing her pregnancy. Meanwhile, Adrian warns Monica that his relationship with Vivian cannot be destroyed, then leaves with Marcus to buy Vivian a gift.

Adrian gives Vivian a bottle of perfume, but his mother Sandra mocks the cheap gift. Vivian briefly thinks he is implying she smells bad. Adrian explains he chose something inexpensive so she would feel comfortable accepting it. Vivian accepts the gift, and Sandra resolves to give her a proper present.

Vivian tells Chloe that Adrian has dealt with Monica and has no feelings for her. After spraying the perfume Adrian gave her, she breaks out in an itchy rash. Adrian insists on taking her to the hospital, but she firmly refuses and asks only for ointment.

Vivian struggles to apply ointment to her rash, so Adrian offers to help, leading to an awkward moment in their bedroom. Meanwhile, Ryan complains to Monica that their plan backfired, but Monica urges him not to give up and hints at another scheme against Vivian.

Sandra arrives with a $700,000 bag, criticizing Adrian for letting Vivian carry an old one unfit for the Sterling family's young mistress. Adrian tries to intervene, but Sandra cuts him off. Vivian accepts the bag, and then someone rushes in to announce that something big has happened.

While cleaning Vivian's old bag, a servant finds an ultrasound report indicating she is pregnant. Sandra is shocked and wakes her husband. At work, Vivian receives an anonymous package that smells strongly of fish.

Adrian's mother faints from shock after learning Vivian is pregnant, then wakes overjoyed and thanks God. She immediately calls Adrian out of a meeting, ordering him to find Vivian and tell her to quit work and rest at home.

Adrian learns Vivian is pregnant and rushes out of his meeting to find her, but her phone is off. Chloe tells him Vivian took the day off and never showed up at work. Adrian reaches her car and discovers blood inside, realizing something has happened to her.

Ryan admits to a partner that he stoked Hannah's father's grief into a murderous rage against Vivian. On a rooftop, the grieving father accuses Vivian of falsifying his daughter's autopsy. Vivian urges him to seek a second examination rather than throw his life away for revenge.

Vivian faces Hannah's father at knifepoint and tells him that all autopsy evidence is preserved and a re-examination can be requested through a lawyer. She asks what would happen to his mother if he throws his life away. He hesitates and lowers the knife as Adrian's team arrives at the building, tracking Vivian's location.

Adrian arrives after losing phone contact, subdues the attacker, and insists on taking the injured Vivian to the hospital. Vivian wants to go home and mentions the baby hasn't been checked yet, revealing her pregnancy to Adrian.

Vivian explains she wanted to tell Adrian about the pregnancy right away, but Monica answered his phone. Adrian recalls that Monica did come to his office that day and sneaked in. Vivian says Monica claimed a special relationship with Adrian, and Adrian dismisses it as nonsense.

Ryan complains to Sandra that Vivian only got a scratch, and Sandra hints at an opportunity when they visit the cemetery. Vivian asks Adrian to release the kidnapper, but he refuses and questions why she became a forensic pathologist.

Adrian asks Vivian why she became a forensic pathologist, and she recalls her painful childhood. After her parents died, relatives called her a jinx and bullied her. Those experiences drove her toward forensic medicine.

Vivian is shopping alone when she runs into Ryan and Monica. Ryan mocks her for being by herself, and Monica ridicules her old-fashioned taste. Vivian fires back, mentioning she carries heavy corpses at work, leaving them both speechless.

Vivian heads to her grandmother's house after shopping. Monica and Ryan block her path, mocking that Adrian will dump her. Vivian retorts and leaves. Monica then hints she might not survive the night. At her grandmother's, Vivian is reminded not to carry heavy things since she's pregnant, and learns the Sterling family sends gifts often.

At her grandmother's, Vivian hears concern about Adrian and a Sinclair Group daughter, and says she would part gracefully if love ended. Ryan tells his mother Vivian dumped him, not the reverse, and wants to apologize, but Adrian refuses to get involved.

Chloe fails to sway Adrian and conspires with a hired killer to murder Vivian before she has to apologize. Vivian leaves her grandmother's house and gets into a car, but the driver suddenly stops in the dark.

Adrian heads to the cemetery and has Bruno secretly guard Vivian. Bruno intercepts a hired killer targeting Vivian, and Adrian orders him to extract the mastermind. Vivian returns unharmed, and when Adrian blames himself for putting her in danger, she tells him she has never regretted marrying him.

Ryan learns the killer was captured alive and rejects his mother's suggestion to flee abroad, vowing to handle it himself. Vivian wakes at ten to a call from her grandmother, who warns that her aunt-in-law has come from the country to see Adrian, so she hurries to his company to stop her.

Vivian's aunt-in-law shows up at Adrian's company claiming to be his mother-in-law and demands VIP treatment. Manager Zhang confirms Vivian's identity with Marcus and escorts her to a lounge. Vivian arrives and tries to pull her away before she causes more trouble.

Vivian's aunt forces her to confirm their relationship in front of the staff, then demands a hundred million dollars to buy a villa for her son, citing Adrian's billion-dollar fortune. Vivian refuses and brings up the aunt's past abuse. The aunt counters by demanding Vivian repay her late uncle's kindness.

Vivian's aunt berates her for ingratitude, bringing up how the family took her in. Vivian recalls being forced to wash clothes, scrub toilets, and feed pigs just to get scraps of food. She says she would have preferred an orphanage, and her aunt accuses her of looking down on her elders now that she has married into wealth.

Vivian's aunt Barbara arrives with a jar she claims holds the ashes of Vivian's parents. She demands Vivian kneel and apologize, threatening to smash the urn. When Vivian refuses, the aunt demands a hundred million and says she will ask Adrian for the money instead.

Employees gossip that Vivian is beneath Adrian. Barbara pressures Vivian to ask her husband for the hundred million. When Adrian arrives, Barbara tries to cozy up to him, but he slaps her the moment she insults Vivian.

Adrian arrives to find Vivian on her knees and confronts Barbara. Barbara claims Vivian knelt voluntarily and demands payment for the years Vivian's parents' ashes were buried on her land. Adrian exposes her lies and warns he has plenty of ways to deal with someone like her. When he refuses to pay, Barbara threatens to smash the ashes.

Barbara demands an answer from Vivian and threatens to smash the ashes, insisting on a hundred million. Adrian subdues her and orders her thrown out of the company. As Barbara hurls curses, Adrian comforts Vivian and suggests they go find a cemetery to properly bury her parents' ashes.

Adrian asks Vivian about her dreams and her goal for the year. She tells him she wants to be named Advanced Individual at work. Adrian privately instructs Marcus to secure the title for her through a donation, and Marcus sets off to handle it.

Chloe brings Vivian homemade cakes and mentions the unit is selecting this year's Advanced Individual. She worries Vivian's spot will again be taken by someone with connections. Vivian says she no longer cares much. Elsewhere, Ryan learns Vivian won the award, and a colleague explains an entrepreneur donated ten million dollars and specifically asked to honor her.

After receiving a DNA report, Vivian gets a call from Adrian asking her out to celebrate that evening. A colleague teases her plain outfit and pushes her to shop for new clothes at noon. Vivian mentions the black card Adrian gave her remains unused, and the colleague insists she spend it.

Vivian and Chloe are mocked by a sales clerk for their cheap clothes. After Chloe fires back, Vivian calmly pulls out the limited-edition black card Adrian gave her. The clerk's attitude flips instantly, and she rushes to serve Vivian while Chloe tells her to get lost.

Adrian learns that Vivian used her own salary card instead of the black card he gave her. That evening, he confronts her about it, and when she says she doesn't like shopping, he suddenly kisses her by the car. He uses the moment to make her promise she will use his card from now on.

Adrian takes Vivian out to celebrate. Over dinner, she describes a recent case of a highly decomposed body pulled from the East River, explaining the chemistry behind the green discoloration. Adrian asks if she finds it disgusting, and Vivian says she got used to it after seeing many cases. He praises her strong psychological resilience, and she asks whether that is a compliment or an insult.

Vivian tells Adrian she was not named advanced individual. Adrian immediately questions Marcus about the ten-million-dollar donation he approved, which was meant to secure the title for Vivian. Convinced the recipients took the money without delivering, Adrian decides to handle the matter personally the next day.

Colleagues flatter Claire for winning advanced individual four years running, while others mutter that she only succeeds because of her director uncle. Claire announces this year's bonus has jumped to a hundred thousand thanks to a large grant, and a coworker tells Vivian she should just quit and live as a wealthy lady.

Claire blocks Vivian and accuses her of putting Chloe up to badmouthing her. Chloe fires back that Claire is just throwing her weight around. Vivian coolly tells Claire to take any complaints to the director privately instead of making a scene. Claire then demands to know if Vivian is jealous of her.

Claire ridicules Vivian's cheap clothes and fake designer bag, claiming her rich husband and pregnancy are lies since there was never a wedding. Vivian fires back that Claire only keeps her job through her uncle. Claire threatens Vivian's position.

Claire demands that Vivian kneel and apologize, or she will report her to the director. Vivian refuses, saying she only kneels for the dead. When the director arrives, Claire and a coworker accuse Vivian of insulting him out of resentment over a missed award, and they call for her immediate dismissal.

The director pressures Vivian to resign, but she refuses and fires back. Claire threatens to report her to higher-ups when Adrian suddenly appears and calls Vivian his wife. Chloe points out the director and Claire are bullying Vivian and urges Adrian to stand up for her.

The staff recognize Adrian as the man who picked up Vivian the night before. The director and Claire accuse him of disturbing the workplace and threaten to call the police, but Adrian presents a donation agreement. He reveals he donated ten million to the unit solely to ensure Vivian receives the advanced individual award.

Everyone is stunned to learn Adrian owns Sterling Technologies. Claire finally admits she used connections to take Vivian's award. Vivian refuses the returned awards and bonuses, demanding the director nullify the agreement and return the ten million, or she will sue.

Chloe vents on Vivian's behalf while Adrian worries Vivian is angry with him. Marcus reassures him. Adrian presses for the attacker's confession, demanding the mastermind be identified. Meanwhile, Sandra urges Ryan to flee the country before the attacker talks, but Ryan insists on attending Vivian and Adrian's wedding.

Vivian goes to Adrian's company to deliver lunch at her grandmother's urging. The receptionist recognizes her as Mrs. Sterling, explaining that Marcus distributed her photo to all employees. Embarrassed, Vivian heads upstairs on her own.

Vivian arrives at Adrian's company to deliver lunch. Employees remark on how approachable she is for the CEO's wife. Adrian invites her to his office to eat together, and their respectful rapport draws admiration from the staff.

Vivian visits Adrian at his office, and he is delighted to see her. Over lunch, he offers to take the afternoon off and promises that after the baby is born, he will step back from work to spend more time with her and their child.

Guests gossip that Vivian is a shotgun bride, but Adrian's mother sets the record straight, insisting the couple married for love and the child was conceived after their registration. Ryan arrives with his mother and tells Vivian he has come around, asking to put the past behind them.

Bank records show the attacker received a transfer from Ryan on the day he assaulted Vivian. Adrian identifies Ryan as the mastermind. Vivian confronts Ryan in the banquet hall, exposing his dependence on his uncle and warning him not to cause trouble at the wedding.

Adrian returns to the banquet hall to find Ryan holding Vivian at knifepoint. Ryan declares he is already a failure and cannot stand to see Vivian live better than him, vowing to take her with him even if he dies. Adrian offers to drop the investigation into Ryan's murder-for-hire plot in exchange for Vivian's release.

After Adrian orders Ryan to stop, Vivian asks Ryan if he knows why she broke up with him. She tells him she went to his birthday party and stood outside the private room, overhearing everything he said. Ryan insists she never showed up, but Vivian replies that she simply chose not to walk in.

Adrian orders Ryan taken to the police station and rejects Sandra's plea for leniency, vowing Ryan will never leave prison. He then resumes the wedding and presents Vivian with all of his assets as a gift.
