Two Daughters, One Lie

Nora clashes with her etiquette tutor Camille during a lesson. Camille tries to discipline Nora with a ruler, but Nora fights back, snatches the ruler, and dares Camille to touch her again.

A debt collector arrives at the laundromat demanding inflated interest and late fees. Mia's mother cannot pay, so Mia stays calm and calls the collector's boss, Grant, to deal with him directly.

Mia's mother is puzzled by the debt collector's obedience, and Mia turns her attention to the clothes. Meanwhile, Camille selects a dress for Nora, who refuses to attend any dinner. Camille informs Nora that her father Julian has just arrived home, and Nora must explain herself.

Nora comes to dinner in a dress she has shortened herself and tells Camille she is done with etiquette lessons. Julian tells her to sit properly, but Nora ignores him. After only two bites, Julian tries to leave for work, and Nora stops him, surprising him with her assertiveness.

Julian confronts Nora about her behavior, and she tells him she is done following his orders. He insists she attend a charity racing gala the next night and warns her not to cause another scene. Nora agrees coolly, and the standoff pauses for now.

Nora clashes with Julian before the charity gala, then is introduced to a guest who greets her like an old acquaintance. She responds coldly, cuts the conversation short, and walks away visibly upset.

Camille challenges Nora to drink, and Nora downs the glass. Moments later, Nora collapses, and Camille approaches to check on her with a tone of satisfaction.

Camille confronts Nora, accusing her of deliberate humiliation and mocking her for embarrassing herself in public. Nora fires back that Camille fell on her own and is now taking it out on her. As the argument escalates, Camille nearly exposes Nora's secret before Julian intervenes, declaring he knows Nora well enough to trust she would never start trouble.

Julian catches Camille laying hands on Nora and immediately removes her from Nora's affairs, ending the etiquette lessons. Camille protests, but Julian stands firm. He then notices Nora's stomach pain and confiscates her drink.
