I Am the Commander's Daughter

Qiao Yun brings their son Zeng Xiaofu to the military camp to find her husband Zeng Youguo. A guard confirms Zeng Youguo is a commander there, but that he has long since married another woman at the camp.

Qiao Yun refuses to believe her husband remarried, suspecting a case of mistaken identity. A guard suggests she ask Aunt Jiang, the camp know-it-all. When Qiao Yun mentions Zeng Youguo, Aunt Jiang's demeanor shifts sharply as she presses for details.

Aunt Jiang suddenly strikes Qiao Yun. Xiao Fu tries to protect his mother but is shoved aside. When Qiao Yun demands an explanation, Aunt Jiang calls her a homewrecker and declares she is Zeng Youguo's mother-in-law.

Aunt Jiang publicly denounces Qiao Yun as a homewrecker, while onlookers confirm Zeng Youguo held a camp wedding with Xia Fanghua. Qiao Yun presents seven years of letters from Zeng Youguo, which Aunt Jiang tears up, then she reveals their marriage certificate.

Qiao Yun shows a photo with Zeng Youguo, but Aunt Jiang insists she is an impostor. Aunt Jiang pulls out Qiao Yun's intimate clothing to shame her publicly. During the scuffle, Aunt Jiang pushes Zeng Xiaofu, leaving him unconscious, and threatens to ensure Qiao Yun can never bear children again.

Deputy Zhou arrives to stop the fight and orders Zeng Xiaofu taken to the hospital. Aunt Jiang keeps slandering Qiao Yun, while Deputy Zhou confirms Zeng Youguo married Xia Fanghua six years ago and urges Qiao Yun to leave. To stay, Qiao Yun declares she is Qiao Lianshan's daughter.

Qiao Yun announces she is Commander Qiao's daughter. Deputy Zhou salutes her at once and offers to arrange a car to take her to her father. She declines, asking him to bring her parents to the camp instead, and is led away to rest. Bystanders doubt her, while Aunt Jiang rushes off to warn Xia Fanghua.

Aunt Jiang rushes to warn Xia Fanghua that a woman claiming to be Zeng Youguo's wife has entered the camp. Enraged, Xia Fanghua sets out to confront her. Meanwhile, Qiao Yun comforts her injured son at the hospital, and Commander Qiao arrives vowing to punish whoever hurt his daughter and grandson.

Xia Fanghua and her mother Aunt Jiang barge into the ward, insulting Qiao Yun's son and claiming she is Zeng Youguo's lawful wife. Qiao Yun confronts them, revealing that Zeng Youguo entered the camp because of her.

Xia Fanghua and Aunt Jiang mock Qiao Yun, denying she ever helped Zeng Youguo enter the camp. Qiao Yun's son Xiaofu urgently needs surgery, but Xia Fanghua deliberately monopolizes Dr. Xu for her own pregnancy care, declaring the boy must die. Qiao Yun warns that if anything happens to her son, she will not let it go.

Qiao Yun begs Dr. Xu to save her critically ill son Xiaofu. After examining the boy, Dr. Xu confirms the severity and prepares for surgery. Xia Fanghua and Aunt Jiang block him, calling Xiaofu a bastard and warning Dr. Xu that treating the child will implicate him.

Under pressure from Xia Fanghua and Aunt Jiang, Dr. Xu hesitates to operate on Xiaofu. Desperate to save her son, Qiao Yun declares that she and Zeng Youguo were already married and, for the first time, reveals that her father is Commander Qiao Lianshan, hoping to sway the doctor.

Qiao Yun tells Dr. Xu that Deputy Zhou has gone to fetch her father, Qiao Lianshan, and points out that Deputy Zhou's men brought Xiaofu to the hospital. Convinced, Dr. Xu agrees to prepare for surgery immediately. Xia Fanghua continues to question Qiao Yun's claim, but Qiao Yun insists she is telling the truth.

Aunt Jiang slanders Qiao Yun, accusing her of an affair with Deputy Zhou and calling Xiaofu a bastard. Qiao Yun slaps her, and Xia Fanghua intervenes. Qiao Yun again begs Dr. Xu to save her son, while Xia Fanghua threatens him with Zeng Youguo's authority. Meanwhile, Commander Qiao Lianshan reviews Zeng Youguo's file and vows revenge for his daughter.

Xia Fanghua blocks Qiao Yun from helping her son and declares the child must die. Qiao Yun shields Xiaofu and threatens to die with him, forcing them back. In his mother's arms, Xiaofu asks for candy before slipping into a deep sleep, as Qiao Yun promises to take him home.

Xia Fanghua stops Qiao Yun, accusing her of staying in the camp long enough to leak secrets, and refuses to let the doctor treat Xiaofu. A soldier reports the disturbance at the military hospital, and Zeng Youguo rushes over.

After Qiao Yun pushes back against Xia Fanghua, Zeng Youguo arrives. Aunt Jiang rebukes him for betraying her daughter, reminding him that all camp officers witnessed their wedding and warning of the consequences of misconduct. Qiao Yun interrupts to beg him to save Xiaofu first.

Xia Fanghua flaunts her unborn child before Zeng Youguo, claiming it is his only true heir. As he listens to the baby kick, Qiao Yun bursts in and demands to know whether he remembers that their son Xiaofu is dying.

Zeng Youguo sees his son Xiaofu critically ill and blames Qiao Yun. Qiao Yun forces him to face the child's condition. Xia Fanghua's mother admits to pushing Xiaofu, and Qiao Yun reveals that Xia Fanghua has been blocking Dr. Xu from treating the boy.

Zeng Youguo finally allows Dr. Xu to treat Xiaofu, but Xia Fanghua's mother secretly schemes to ensure the boy dies that very day. Qiao Yun confronts Deputy Zhou about how Zeng Youguo's marriage report was approved without uncovering his prior marriage, and Deputy Zhou admits his failure and condemns the informal wedding that wronged Qiao Yun.

Zeng Youguo openly doubts that Xiaofu is his biological son, insinuating that Qiao Yun had another man in the camp. Qiao Yun furiously counters that he never returned home after their wedding yet found time to remarry, and demands to know who the alleged real father is.

Xia Fanghua accuses Deputy Zhou of being Qiao Yun's man in the camp, claiming she saw them being close and using it to question Xiaofu's parentage. Qiao Yun denies it, explaining that Deputy Zhou only respects her father Qiao Lianshan. Xia Fanghua warns Zeng Youguo that saving the child will harm his career, prompting him to suggest a paternity test.

Zeng Youguo insists on a paternity test using newly imported equipment. Qiao Yun agrees but declares Xiaofu will have no further ties to him regardless of the outcome. As Xiaofu calls for his father in a daze, Xia Fanghua secretly resolves that the child must not survive.

Outside the emergency room, Qiao Yun rejects Zeng Youguo's apology and warns that her father will not spare him if anything happens to Xiaofu. Zeng Youguo still doubts her, insisting there is no officer named Qiao in the camp.

As Xiaofu's surgery reaches a critical point, Aunt Jiang urges Zeng Youguo to take Dr. Xu away, claiming Xia Fanghua's unborn son is in danger. Qiao Yun blocks them, vowing they will only take the doctor over her dead body.

After Zeng Youguo takes Dr. Xu away, Qiao Yun discovers Xiaofu has stopped breathing. Devastated, she carries her son and decides to leave the camp hospital, hoping to find help elsewhere.

Qiao Yun holds her son Xiaofu, blaming herself for bringing him to the camp. Xiaofu weakly comforts her, saying he wants to go home and eat sugar figurines, then stops breathing in her arms. Far away, Qiao Lianshan feels a sudden pain in his chest, sensing something has happened to his daughter and grandson.

Qiao Yun seizes Xia Fanghua, demanding she pay with her life for Xiaofu. Zeng Youguo intervenes. Others claim they didn't know the child was frail, but Qiao Yun rages that they killed her son and blame him for being weak. Zeng urges her to let go and move on.
