Flash Marriage, True Love

Madeline Porter helps her sister Evelyn escape her violent husband, Paul Patwey. During the escape, they encounter mercenaries Xavier and Victor Maddox, and Paul threatens them with a knife.

Xavier and Victor bring Madeline and Evelyn back to their residence. The family matriarch calms the frightened sisters and invites them to stay. Madeline accepts eagerly, and after a brief hesitation, Evelyn joins them in the car.

The matriarch holds Madeline's hand and asks where the sisters are from, then praises Victor's cooking and Xavier's combat skills in an obvious attempt at matchmaking. Seeing the rapport, she arranges for the brothers to escort them to a hotel owned by the family.

The matriarch abruptly tells Madeline and Evelyn that seeing them irritates her. Xavier receives orders to report back by 8 a.m. and decides they will stay only one night. He warns Victor to cut ties with the sisters to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Madeline feels unwell at a restaurant. When a server offers help and suggests calling a doctor, she sharply refuses. She stumbles away alone and collapses out of sight, apparently hiding a private ordeal.

Madeline and Xavier wake up together in a hotel room. Xavier states bluntly that he will never marry and cannot take responsibility. Madeline says she does not need him to, claims she came to the city to find her boyfriend, and suggests they act like strangers from now on. Xavier agrees coldly, and Madeline leaves alone.

Evelyn finds Madeline on the street and scolds her for disappearing all night. Madeline apologizes and tries to hurry away, but Xavier catches up and gives her a medicinal ointment for her wrist. Evelyn senses the tension between them, and Madeline pulls her sister away, promising to explain everything later.

Madeline brings Evelyn to Paul Patwey's apartment, hoping to stay there after fleeing Evelyn's abusive husband. They find Marcia already inside; Paul claims he was only tutoring her. Marcia leaves, and Paul offers the sisters a temporary place to stay.

Madeline keeps throwing up at work, and her coworkers whisper that she is carrying an illegitimate child. Evelyn overhears, confronts them, and defends her sister. Later, Evelyn asks Madeline privately; Madeline admits she is pregnant and that Xavier is the father.

Coworkers mock Madeline in the break room over her pregnancy, calling her promiscuous. Evelyn defends her, but Paul arrives, learns the truth, and demands that Madeline terminate the pregnancy.

Paul takes Madeline to a gynecologist he knows, who claims the fetus is deformed and urges an immediate termination. Madeline questions the single diagnosis and demands a second opinion, but Paul insists on scheduling the procedure.

The housekeeper informs the matriarch that Madeline is pregnant and about to terminate the pregnancy at a hospital. Alarmed, the matriarch demands the sisters' address and workplace, determined to intervene personally.

The matriarch scolds Xavier for not being with his pregnant wife and orders him to rush to the hospital immediately. Xavier commands his team to reach the hospital within three minutes or face extra training.

Xavier storms into the operating room and stops Madeline's procedure. He reveals that Paul conspired with a doctor to falsify the prenatal report, claiming the fetus was deformed. Paul admits he deceived Madeline because he could not tolerate her carrying another man's child.

The Maddox matriarch insists Xavier take responsibility for Madeline's pregnancy. Xavier speaks with Madeline alone and proposes marriage as the simplest solution, promising lifelong security for her and Evelyn. Wanting to spare her sister further worry, Madeline agrees.

The Maddox matriarch presents Madeline with a custom wedding gown and lavish gifts: 8.88 million in cash, a villa, rental income, and an unlimited black card. Evelyn offers her own modest savings as dowry, but the matriarch insists on upholding the family's standards so Madeline lacks for nothing.

Madeline's aunt shows up uninvited, claiming the right to manage the 8.88 million dowry from the Maddox family and demanding a million for her own son's wedding. The matriarch refuses outright, and Xavier arrives to threaten the aunt until she leaves.

During a wedding dress fitting, the designer cinches Madeline's waist too tightly, endangering her pregnancy. Xavier arrives, cites precise safety measurements, and fires the designer on the spot.

The designer admits ignoring Madeline's latest measurements. Xavier demands the gown be altered to a safe weekly growth allowance or he will destroy the shop. At home, he brings her warm milk and reveals he keeps three copies of her prenatal reports. Touched by his care, Madeline feels safe with him.

On the eve of the wedding, Evelyn stays alone at a separate residence, noting how thoroughly Xavier has arranged everything, even posting someone to observe the tradition that the couple not meet. Victor arrives to deliver something and gently corrects her when she still calls him by his formal title. After he leaves, Evelyn tells Madeline to lie down and massages her.

Madeline tears up at the thought of leaving her sister. Evelyn comforts her and holds her as they sleep. On the wedding morning, Victor arrives with news that Xavier has been called away by an urgent mission, and he will take them to the hotel first.

The guests wait at the hotel as Victor explains Xavier's absence on an urgent mission. Marcia's comrades mock Madeline openly, calling her unworthy and claiming Xavier only agreed to marry because of the pregnancy and his mother's pressure. Overhearing them, Madeline realizes the truth behind the marriage.

Marcia implies Xavier was forced into the marriage. Evelyn defends Madeline, insisting the relationship is purely professional. Guests invoke a local wedding custom and demand that the pregnant Madeline step over a fire basin to enter, refusing to let Evelyn take her place.

Victor stops guests from harassing Madeline and warns troublemakers to leave. Marcia and her friends gossip, convinced Xavier is tied up with a mission and will miss the wedding. Madeline worries he will not show, but Evelyn reassures her. Just before the ceremony, Xavier arrives.

Evelyn places Madeline's hand in Xavier's, asking him to protect her for life. Xavier's firm grip steadies Madeline. The guests clamor for Xavier to pass three challenges according to team tradition, and he agrees.

The guests urge Xavier to tackle the first challenge, reminding everyone that Madeline is pregnant and safety comes first. They hide Madeline and give Xavier ten minutes to find her blindfolded, or else he must hand out red envelopes. Xavier locates her quickly.

The guests make Xavier walk three steps in Madeline's high heels without falling. Madeline worries her pregnancy makes her too heavy, but Xavier tells her to hold on tight and succeeds. The third challenge is feeding the bride a grape mouth-to-mouth, no hands allowed.

After the wedding games, the guests urge Xavier and Madeline to feed each other a grape mouth-to-mouth. Madeline is shy, but the crowd eggs them on. Xavier notices Madeline is unwell and sees that a wound on her body is still bleeding. He tells her to wait while he fetches the first-aid kit.
