Dragons Bow To The Trash

Elias bears no dragon mark, yet in the fight against a Level 72 Demon King that three Royal Dragonrider squads could not kill, dragons answer his command. The creature slips away, his masters rebuke him, and he asks to enter the Royal Dragonrider Academy. The metal they give him is the Midas Seal, which opens the seven kingdoms' treasuries, while an order goes out to find him and make him the greatest dragonrider.

Outside the Royal Dragonrider Academy, Elias runs into Layla. Cain Drake taunts him for having no dragon mark and calls him unfit to enter. Layla defends him, but Examiner Marcus moves to throw him out of the trials for having no dragon, and Layla intervenes again.

Captain Roland arrives and, over Marcus's objection, orders Elias's name added to the trials. The Dragon Flame Chalice selects thirty candidates, including Cain Drake. Elias is not named by the chalice, and Layla begins to doubt her faith in him.

The Dragon Flame Chalice selects thirty candidates, and Elias is not among them. Layla begs for another chance for him and publicly declares her love for Elias, rejecting her arranged marriage to Cain. Marcus orders both Layla and Elias thrown out of the arena.

The Dragon Flame Chalice unexpectedly produces a thirty-first name: Elias. Marcus tries to dismiss it, but under pressure he reluctantly allows Elias to proceed to the remaining two trials.

The Dragon Summoning trial begins. Cadets pour their power into the platform, and the rank of the dragon that answers determines their fate. Cain Drake shows off in front of Layla and shocks everyone by summoning a rare A-rank golden dragon. Finally, it is Elias's turn, and Layla quietly roots for him.

Elias steps onto the platform amid jeers. When he channels his power, an unprecedented energy erupts, summoning an S-rank entity. The ancient Dragon King Alexstrasza awakens after a thousand years, shocking everyone.
