The Voice of My Heart

Xixi drowns after her parents rush to save her sister Lin Jiaojiao first, dies, and discovers she is trapped inside a short-drama world. Reborn at the dinner where her birth parents finally claim her, she gains the ability to hear unspoken thoughts and catches Lin Jiaojiao's hidden scheme the moment a toast is raised.

During the welcome dinner, Lin Jiaojiao stages a fall during a toast and blames Xixi, and the family sides with her, even brother Lin Mubai. In anger, Mubai lets slip a warning about Xixi being framed and killed later, making her wonder if he too can hear her thoughts. Their father gives Xixi his new car as compensation, while she quietly has the living room cameras switched back on.

Lin Jiaojiao lures Xixi upstairs alone, then stages another fall and accuses her of pushing her again, swaying the family except for brother Lin Mubai, who speaks up in her defense. As the argument escalates, their father discovers the living room cameras have quietly been switched back on, promising the truth is about to surface.

Jiaojiao apologizes in front of the family, but Xixi surprises everyone by asking to intern at Pei Lengyue's company instead of the family firm as compensation. Checking the books afterward, their father finds Jiaojiao has been siphoning company funds for years to cover gambling debts, leaving the firm near collapse with brother Lin Mubai's signature on the paperwork, pushing the parents to quietly dig for the truth.

The Lin family suddenly dotes on Xixi, planning a grand welcome banquet in seven days, while Jiaojiao is pointedly left out. Pei Lengyue offers to take Xixi under her own wing at the company, and Mubai publicly draws a line between Xixi and Jiaojiao. Smiling on the surface, Jiaojiao quietly vows to make Xixi pay once she starts her internship.

Xixi begins her internship at Pei Lengyue's company, introduced by Jiaojiao in front of everyone. Her new ability flares up and she accidentally overhears Pei Lengyue's private thoughts about Mubai, leaving both women unsettled. Pei Lengyue then tests Xixi's skills with a market research assignment, watching closely to see how she performs.

Pei Lengyue's bracelet vanishes, and Jiaojiao forces Xixi into a public search, pointing to an old keepsake box as proof she swapped a jade pendant. The search turns up nothing, but the real bracelet is later found in Pei Lengyue's own bathroom trash can, undercutting Jiaojiao's accusation and leaving her scheme exposed.

After the bracelet scandal is exposed, Xixi publicly demands Lin Jiaojiao repay her for the damage, forcing her to work overtime and burning through her card on a shopping spree. Humiliated, Jiaojiao brands Xixi a country outsider and secretly pays someone that night to have her sent away to Miannan.

While Xixi is away, her parents quietly transfer ten percent of their shares to Lin Jiaojiao and gift her a limited-edition diamond necklace. Jiaojiao, meanwhile, has arranged to ship Xixi off to Miannan, but Xixi unexpectedly returns and confronts her sister for secretly hoping she would never come back.

Lin Jiaojiao returns Xixi's shopping card to win their parents' favor, while Xixi recalls a past life where Jiaojiao nearly had her killed on a cargo ship. Her father seems to react to her unspoken thoughts, and Li Yongzhou's sudden arrival stirs memories of an old betrayal, leaving Xixi suspicious that her whole family can hear her mind except Jiaojiao and Yongzhou.
