Even Though I'm a Zombie, Sunscreen Is a Must!

Anya, now a zombie who can still talk, is too socially anxious to ask neighbors for help. Unable to reach her family down south, she decides to walk home alone. She spots Zane, a superpowered hunter clearing zombies, and realizes she looks like easy prey to him.

Anya breaks into a store for supplies and wonders if zombies still feel thirst. She frees a trapped zombie, then spots Zane entering for water. She flees in panic, only to find herself cornered in a dead end.

Anya plays dead and fools Zane, who leaves flowers beside her. Just as she relaxes, she spots a woman chased by zombies and, after a moment of hesitation, rushes in to help.

After saving Penny, Anya learns she slipped out for tampons and leaves before the search party arrives. She sneaks to their camp, leaves food, water and supplies, then fires a single shot to draw them out so they find the delivery.

The gunshot draws a horde, forcing the camp to barricade themselves inside. Blaming herself, Anya resolves to find Zane at a nearby safe house for help, even though she fears he might cut her down before she can explain she's a thinking zombie.

Zane tells the camp that a backpack-wearing zombie deliberately led him to save them. The survivors realize it was the same zombie who pulled one of them from the horde and left supplies. Convinced she may be the key to the virus, Zane orders them to find her. Meanwhile, Anya heads south alone and is suddenly attacked.

Anya sees a zombie who appears to still have a human mind, just like her. After he injects an experimental serum and remains dangerously unstable, she decides to slip away. She catches the smell of barbecue and spots an electric grill running despite the grid being down.

Anya desperately tries to stop other zombies from heading toward a terrifying woman with a hammer. Her unusual behavior catches the attention of researcher Mia Russell, who notes that this zombie's emotional responses are entirely human and decides to follow her closely.

Anya walks into an abandoned amusement park and buys an adult ticket from a skeleton. Researcher Mia Russell watches in disbelief as the zombie follows the rules and leaves a kids' ride because she is too tall. Convinced Anya is a lunatic with no research value, Mia storms off.

Soldiers set up heavy guns to stop a horde reported to have three giant mutants. Anya tries to slip past the perimeter to continue south, but she is stopped. She spots ten giant mutants in the approaching horde and realizes that if she runs out to warn them she will be shot, yet if she stays silent the line will fall.
