Substitute Bride, Conqueror of a Billionaire Family

On the day of her mother's burial, Eliza is sent to an asylum by her stepmother and father. Ten years later, she returns trained by masters and is forced to marry Cassius Blackwood in her stepsister Vivian's place. At Blackwood Manor, she learns Cassius's younger son Leo refuses to eat and offers to make him eat.

Eliza stakes everything on making Leo eat, accepting any punishment if she fails. Cassius locks a punishment collar around her neck and warns it will show her hell. As she cooks and the aroma draws comments, Leo appears and calls her Mum.

Eliza catches Leo hiding in the closet and locks him in until he apologizes. When he tries to scare her with a toy snake, she says she loves snakes and would eat one if hungry. Leo refuses to eat, but after Eliza asks him just to smell the food, he admits it smells amazing.

Eliza drinks Leo's soup in front of him, goading him into snatching the bowl and eating it himself. Cassius Blackwood appears and offers her anything for getting Leo to eat. Eliza says she wants to stay and become the Lady of Blackwood Manor.

Victor flies into a rage over his unhealed legs and drives out the doctors at gunpoint. Cassius arrives to calm him, but the medical team admits they have exhausted every option. Eliza steps forward and claims she can make Victor walk again.

Cassius reveals he knows Eliza spent ten years in an asylum and refuses to let her treat Victor. Eliza insists she is the only one who can make Victor walk again and asks for one week. Cassius agrees but warns that if Victor is not standing in seven days, she will regret ever leaving the asylum.

Eliza enters Victor's room despite his threats. She introduces herself as his new mother and promises to make him stand again by his birthday next week. Victor warns he will kill her if she gives him false hope, and she accepts the wager. Cassius then orders the grandest birthday party for Victor, vowing to publicly punish Eliza if she fails.

Eliza seeks out her teacher and asks how to make a person with a broken leg walk again. The teacher explains that every injury is different and she must first understand how bad Victor's break is. Eliza then declares she will make him walk again.

Eliza brings Victor medicine and breakfast. He resists at first but takes the seven-day course. She then uses medical equipment on him, and when he cries out in pain, she tells him he can feel his legs again.

At Victor's birthday banquet, guests gossip that Eliza has not appeared and must be dead or mad. She arrives on Cassius's arm wearing the Blackwood heirloom Sapphire, stunning everyone. When Vivian insults her, Leo defends Eliza for the first time.
