His Rejected Luna Is the Last Dragon Queen

Sarah promises her dying mother to hide her dragon nature and marry for love. A year later, she has been running the pack and keeping Lady Cordelia alive with her blood. Callum comes home, only to present a royal decree naming Vesper as his fated mate, rejecting Sarah on the spot.

Callum announces a public rejection ceremony in three days, branding Sarah a failed Luna. He and Vesper offer to let her raise their future child as a settlement. Sarah refuses the insult and walks out.

Lady Cordelia intervenes and orders Sarah to apologize to Vesper. Sarah calls Vesper a husband-stealing snake and reveals she spent her fortune on potions to keep Cordelia alive. Cordelia calls her rude and strikes her across the face.

After being struck, Sarah announces she will no longer provide Cordelia's life-saving potions and orders Posey to gather the account books for a reckoning at the council. Cordelia collapses in pain while Callum calls for Healer Dane. Later, Sarah is cornered by assassins but is rescued by a pureblood lion man, whom she thanks calmly.

Sarah reveals her dragon heritage before Lycan King Aldric and recounts Callum's mistreatment. She refuses to annul his decree with Vesper and asks only that her name not be blackened in public.

Callum storms into Sarah's chamber, accuses her of complaining to the Lycan King, and gloats that his request was denied. After he leaves, Sarah confides in Posey and orders her to pack everything. She resolves to leave the pack for good.

Elder Morel criticizes Callum for abandoning his mate. Vesper insists she is the Moon Goddess–sanctioned fated mate. When Cordelia claims she has never mistreated Sarah, Sarah counters that Cordelia only refrains because Sarah's caravan profits and black-market medicine keep her alive.

Pack members accuse Sarah of ingratitude. She counters that the territory, armors, and rations are all funded by her mines and caravans. When Cordelia offers to sever the bond but keep 80% of her assets, Sarah exposes their greed.

Morel accuses the pack of slandering Sarah to seize her wealth. Callum reveals that Sarah's caravan profits have funded the entire territory for a year. He offers to return all her assets, but after pushback settles on returning half and allows Morel to appeal to the Pack Council or the Lion King.

Sarah rejects the elders' demand to split her assets, tears up the list, and overpowers a pack member who tries to take it. She declares she will reclaim everything. A special decree from the Alpha King arrives.

Callum expects the royal envoy to reprimand Sarah and announces he will forcibly sever their mate bond. Instead, the envoy reads the Alpha King's decree honoring Sarah's fallen family, granting her the right to sever the bond and ordering the return of all her assets.

With the royal decree in hand, Sarah publicly declares she has no further ties to Callum and orders Posey to collect every coin and item from the Annex. Callum tries to use Queen Mother Lyra's invitation to make her stay, but Sarah refuses. Lady Morel rebukes Callum for his faithlessness, while he insists Vesper is the pack's future even if it means bankruptcy.

Posey's crew loads every last item onto the wagons, down to the wine in the cellar. Cordelia tries to stop them from taking the enchanted keel screen that sustains her life, but Callum stops her. Vesper demands to know why he let Sarah take everything, and Callum asks whether she loves him or the pack's old riches.

Callum tells Vesper that Sarah threw him barehanded in the council hall and warns her not to push Sarah too far. Vesper dismisses it and demands a grand mating ceremony. Meanwhile, Sarah accepts a squad of elite warriors from the Order of the Last Flame, orders them to learn the rules under Posey, and decides to attend the pack's ceremony to see how pathetic a throne built on lies and greed truly is.

Callum and Vesper's mating ceremony draws only crude mercenaries. Vesper quarrels with her mother over the shabby arrangements. Overhearing the mercenaries boast of slaughtering innocent villagers to fake military merits, Sarah orders Posey to send a raven and have the Order of the Last Flame investigate the Southern Reach campaign.

The mercenary leader accuses Callum and Vesper of looking down on the men who bled for them and storms out with his crew. Callum tries to stop them, then turns on Vesper. Sarah receives a raven from Sir Cailin and reads the message alone.

A messenger reports that Vesper and Callum slaughtered villagers on the southern border, prompting the human covens to hold every wolf accountable. Meanwhile, the Westhaven Coven has allied with five thousand rogue wolves, crossing the border disguised as a supply caravan and marching on the south's last major cities. Sarah resolves to go to the palace and plead with King Nyx for reinforcements.

King Aldric dismisses Sarah's report of the southern slaughter as nonsense and places her under guard to protect the royal marriage. Convinced the court is useless, Sarah resolves to slip away that night in dragon form and head for the southern border herself.

Callum arrives desperate: Lady Cordelia's moon sickness has worsened, and Healer Dane refuses to treat her because Callum broke his bond. Sarah mocks him but advises him to kneel before the healer. She then announces she will seal the northern manor for ancestral meditation, using it as cover to leave in dragon form.

Sarah shows herself to Nyx, identifying as Serafina Ashfield and claiming to carry urgent intelligence that threatens the continent. Nyx recognizes her as the woman he once saved, then tells his mother he will offer his military achievements and a royal wolf-tooth amulet as betrothal gifts to marry her.

Nyx tells his mother that since Sarah saved him on a snowy night three years ago, his wolf spirit has bonded only to her, and he will marry no one else. He begs for her blessing and offers to give up all his titles for a quiet life with Sarah. The queen mother then questions Sarah about her urgent intelligence; Sarah reveals that Vesper killed innocents for false merit and that the Westerhaven Coven and five thousand rogue wolves are marching toward Thornwall and Milbaut disguised as a supply caravan.

Sarah warns that the Westerhaven Coven has crossed the border and is marching on the two cities behind their lines. Nyx defies the King's direct order and mobilizes the entire army to intercept them. He then questions Sarah about saving him three years ago, but she deflects. On the march, Sarah spots the disguised convoy by the deep wagon tracks and recognizes Morwen, third in command of the coven, as one of those who slaughtered her family.

Sarah forces Morwen to confess with dragon fire. Morwen reveals a masked she-wolf from the Croak Pack hired the coven to slaughter Sarah's family and will never stop hunting her. When Morwen tries to teleport, Sarah calculates her range and stops her. Sarah hands the witches to Nyx and concludes Vesper's marriage to Callum was a plot from the start.

Under threat of dragon fire, Morwen names Magda Croak as the one who hired the coven eight years ago to wipe out the Ashfield bloodline and find a dragon scale box. She also reveals Vesper married Callum on Magda's orders to get close to Sarah. Sarah resolves to go to Croak territory for evidence, and Nyx insists on joining her.

Sarah goes to the western front without permission and takes out a hundred witches. Nyx receives an urgent report that the Western Witch Council has launched a full-scale invasion and orders Callum and Vesper to reinforce the front. Vesper deliberately delays the march, then publicly insults Sarah upon arrival.

Nyx publicly refutes Vesper's insults against Sarah and demands to know why the reinforcements were delayed. Vesper proposes a best-of-three challenge for command of the troops. Sarah accepts and wins the first round.

After Sarah wins the second round, western witches breach the southern outer wall and close in on the city gate. Everyone rushes to fight. Ignoring that Sarah has already fought two rounds, Vesper charges in alone to prove herself, only to be rescued by Sarah when she is overwhelmed.

After their defeat, Callum and Vesper kneel outside Sarah's tent while onlookers gossip. Sarah eventually grants them entry, and they beg her to speak to the king for reinforcements. She refuses and mentions the name Magda Crow, alarming Vesper.

Vesper lies about her mother being ill and leaves camp despite Callum's questions. Sarah knowingly lets her go to warn Magda Crow, hoping panic will make them slip up. Vesper reports that Sarah knows about the witch massacre of the Ashfields eight years ago, and Magda resolves to kill Sarah herself this time.

Sarah captures an assassin with a Crow Pack tattoo after the battle. She threatens him with dragon fire that burns the soul, forcing him to confess that Magda sent him to kill her before she reaches the capital. Sarah releases him with a message for Magda: she is coming for her head.

King Aldric names Sarah alpha female for her service against the Westhaven Coven and grants her treasures. Sarah reveals that Magda was behind the attack on House Ashford. Aldric, regretting his failure to send aid, issues a special warrant authorizing her to search Croak Pack territory for proof.

Sarah prepares to enter Croak Pack territory with a search warrant. Nyx insists on joining her with a thousand heavily armored soldiers, and she agrees on the condition that he follows her lead. Magda, unfazed, reveals dragon blood she has kept hidden since the dragon clan's fall, intending to power a sacrificial array to trap Sarah.

Sarah and her soldiers are ambushed by dark magic fog and necromantic creatures that drain their strength. Nyx is wounded by a poisoned blade while protecting her. After Sarah destroys the array's core, she vows to confront Magda.

Sarah decides against storming the fortress and offers herself as bait to draw Magda out. She arranges with Nyx to have heavy infantry close in from the rear thirty minutes after she enters. Inside, Magda reveals to her daughter that she has prepared a dragon blood sacrifice to drain Sarah's power and become a dragon herself.

Sarah faces Magda alone and learns that her mother refused to hand over the Dragon Blood Codex, driving Magda to slaughter the dragons and imprison their kin for eight years to build a blood array. When Magda activates the array to drain Sarah's power, Sarah counters it with a single drop of pure dragon blood left by her father, breaking the spell.

Magda turns on her own daughter, declaring that anyone standing between her and power must die. Callum arrives with an army, charging Magda with treason and the massacre of the Dragon Clan. When she resists arrest and begins draining a prisoner's blood, they must stop her immediately.

Sarah finds former Ashford captain Gareth and seventeen survivors in the dungeon; the rest were drained by Magda. She orders an evacuation, then faces Magda alone. Overpowering her with pure dragon blood, Sarah sentences Magda to burn in dragon fire in the name of House Ashford.

Sarah shows Nyx letters between her father and Aldric, revealing that the Lion Council refused to send troops and her brother chose to compromise. Gareth leads the seventeen survivors out, and Sarah sends them north. Nyx asks what she wants now that her revenge is complete, and she admits she has not thought of it yet.

Aldric convicts Magda of treason, restores House Ashford's honor, and grants Sarah her title and the North in perpetuity. Sarah tells the king she no longer hates him. Queen Lyra then asks Sarah to marry Nyx, who proposes and is accepted.

Callum fails to get medicine for Cordelia, who urges him to beg Sarah, only to learn Sarah is marrying Nyx next month. Sarah and Nyx exchange vows, and Callum comes to see her one last time before Posey sends him away.

Sarah teaches dragon children in the north, reminding them that a dragon's strength is for protecting the weak. Gareth says the late king would be proud, and Sarah vows the Dragon Clan will live on as long as one child remains. Nyx hints at starting a family of their own before Sarah tells him to sleep.

Nyx receives word that Ragnar has massed 50,000 troops in the north under the guise of an inspection, with the capital as his real target. Sarah recalls the Northwind Pack's past betrayal and concludes Ragnar is striking first out of fear. She orders a return to the capital and devises a plan to cripple his supply lines.

General Harald claims Ragnar's 50,000 troops are merely a defense against witches. Sarah counters with signed letters between Ragnar and Magda, forcing Harald to withdraw. She then proposes leading a detachment through the back trails to seize Ice River Gorge and cut off Ragnar's sole supply route, and Nyx agrees to trust her despite the danger.

Sarah's force pushes through a blizzard, ambushes a patrol, and forces a soldier to reveal the mountain granary. After burning it, she orders her men to retreat and stays behind alone to face Ragnar, who vows to tear her apart.

Sarah is rescued after the avalanche and wakes with Nyx at her side. They decide not to pursue Ragnar into the northern icefield and order a full withdrawal. Nyx toasts Sarah, crediting her for the victory.
