The Wolf Knight's Oath

After a victory, werewolf knight Caelan shocks the court by declaring he wants only Emeric. That night, a drunk Emeric admits he fears losing Caelan, who vows lifelong loyalty and promises to take Emeric with him if he ever returns to his pack.

On the day he is to be honored, Caelan is ambushed by the king and Emeric. Emeric calls him a filthy monster and claims their friendship was a lie. Cornered and enraged, Caelan unleashes his werewolf strength, overpowers the guards, and escapes.

In a flashback, Emeric admits he panicked and swapped Caelan's poison with a weaker dose so Caelan would leave and never look back. Five years later, Caelan returns as Alpha of the pack and rescues Emeric and his wife Gwen during a confrontation.

Caelan confronts Emeric, mocking his lack of improvement over five years and declaring that the Shadow Pack now rules Eldoran. He strips all nobles of their titles and sentences them to servitude, starting with the prince. When Gwen protests, Caelan orders her punished, and Emeric offers to do anything Caelan wants in exchange for her safety.

Caelan orders Emeric to become his servant and serve hot tea to every warrior present. When a warrior touches Emeric, Caelan declares that only he may punish him. He then takes Emeric aside, demanding to know why he did not fight back, and Emeric explains he protects Gwen only out of gratitude.

Emeric apologizes, but Caelan is unmoved and orders him to strip. Caelan touches the old burns on Emeric's back, struggling to calm himself as the mark stirs. Emeric notices Caelan's agitation and mocks that his wife cannot satisfy him.

After mocking Caelan, Emeric tries to leave but is stopped. Caelan declares that from now on, Emeric will be his personal servant and must obey him. Emeric is forced to submit, and Caelan tells him their game has only just begun.

Gwen visits Emeric and apologizes for the trouble she caused him. She warns him not to trust werewolves and suggests they run away together. Emeric admits he is still searching for someone important, and Gwen tells him some people are better left in memory.

Haunted by dreams, Emeric reports for his first day as a human servant and is ordered to attend Caelan. Caelan warns that his people's safety depends on his service. Later, Caelan commands the pack to discipline the human nobles but forbids abuse, threatening to exile anyone who disobeys.

On the training ground, a werewolf openly challenges Caelan. Caelan accepts and dominates the fight, but is wounded while shielding Emeric. Scarlet arrives to check on him and finds Caelan with Emeric.

Scarlet returns early and finds Caelan with Emeric. Caelan dismisses it as disciplining a weak human servant. The pack cheers for Caelan and his fiancée, urging them to be together, while Emeric feels an unexplained pain in his chest.

Caelan shows Emeric a chest wound that stayed open for a month and nearly killed him, vowing to make him pay. Emeric keeps apologizing, but Caelan dismisses it as meaningless and demands he prove his remorse another way.

Scarlet sees Emeric serving Caelan and decides Gwen is the one distracting the Alpha. She humiliates Gwen and threatens to ruin her face. Emeric intervenes, claiming Gwen as his wife and offering himself for punishment instead.

Caelan stops Scarlet and forbids any abuse of humans, openly siding with Emeric and Gwen. Scarlet decides Emeric has come between her and Caelan too many times and resolves to eliminate him for good during Caelan's border patrol the next day.

Caelan takes Emeric along on his border patrol, sharing a horse. They encounter a soldier beating a defiant human, and Caelan orders it stopped. Emeric pleads for the man's life and blames himself for Caelan's past pain, but before he can finish, an arrow flies toward them.

When an arrow flies at them, Emeric throws himself in front of Caelan, but the arrow still hits Caelan. Caelan accuses him of putting on a pity act and orders the shooter seized. Boris executes the assassin on the spot, and Caelan punishes him with fifty lashes. Back in the city, Caelan asks Emeric to change his bandage, but Emeric recoils from his touch and says he will ask Gwen instead.

Caelan confronts Emeric about recoiling from his touch; Emeric says he just didn't want to disgust him and is ordered out. While Gwen tends his wound, Emeric admits he once did something unforgivable to someone close to him. Gwen urges him to make amends, but Emeric believes some betrayals can never be fixed.

Caelan insists on helping Emeric bathe, citing his injured shoulder. Emeric reluctantly agrees, claiming he just doesn't want to owe him. As Caelan washes him, Emeric trembles and blames the hot water, but the tension between them deepens.

As Caelan continues washing him, Emeric trembles and begs him to stop, accusing Caelan of doing it only to humiliate him. Caelan brings up the past betrayal and vows that Emeric will never have a wife, children, or a happy life, declaring he will drag Emeric down to rot together with him.

While Caelan bathes alone, his fiancée Scarlet arrives and offers to attend to him, even suggesting she join him in the bath. Caelan refuses coldly, so Scarlet asks for a goodnight kiss instead. The bathwater begins to bubble, drawing Scarlet's attention.

Scarlet notices the bubbling water and questions Caelan, but is called away on urgent pack business. Left alone with Emeric, Caelan demands repayment for his earlier help, leading to a tense and intimate standoff by the bath.

Scarlet demands to know what she saw on Caelan's neck, then orders Emeric watched and any mark on his neck cut off. Among the pack, wolves mutter that Caelan executed one of their own for wounding the human prince, calling his concern excessive and hinting at finding a leader loyal to the pack.

Emeric stops Caelan, takes all the blame for the past, and offers himself to be tortured or killed if only his people are spared. He pleads with Caelan not to become a tyrant and says Caelan has always been his best friend. Caelan coldly asks whether trying to have him killed five years ago was just a misunderstanding.

Emeric fears Caelan will hate humans even more if he learns all the nobles agreed to have him killed. Caelan demands to know who was behind it, but Emeric still takes the blame alone. Caelan then forbids mistreatment of humans and orders a gathering for both races.

The wolves serve roast meat to the humans. Caelan urges Emeric to eat, remarking on how thin he has become. The gathering eases tensions, and Emeric wishes humans and wolves could always get along like this.

At the feast, Caelan and Emeric's closeness alarms Luna Scarlet, who orders a full investigation into their shared childhood. Caelan commands the human nobles to return to their rooms and relieves Emeric of his duties as personal servant. Back in his old quarters, Emeric finds he is not happy.

Discontented wolves plot to replace Caelan with a leader of pure wolf blood. Emeric dons formal attire and sets out with Caelan to cross the Misty Forest for a blessing from the high priestess, unaware that an ambush awaits them both.

The horses panic, and Caelan shifts into his wolf form to protect Emeric. Emeric admires the wolf's strength and beauty, but Caelan stops him from touching his head. When Emeric twists his ankle in the thick fog, Caelan lets him ride on his back to find the way to the priestess.

Caelan arrives at the High Priestess's temple with Emeric on his back. Scarlet rushes to him and blames Emeric for slowing him down, but Caelan shuts down the argument and orders an investigation into the mutant bear. As onlookers whisper about werewolves seizing Emeric's kingdom, the priestess finally appears.

The High Priestess performs a sacred test to reveal the bond between souls. A red thread appears and connects Caelan and Scarlet, and the priestess declares them true fated mates chosen by destiny.
