The Caged Phoenix — Episode 1: Episode 1 · Caged and pregnant, she still will not smile for him.

Chu Yunlan was originally a mortal. Seeking immortality, she entered the tutelage of Immortal Lord Lu Ze, yet because of Lu Ze's obsessive love and forced marriage, she suffered the calamity of her clan's annihilation and was reduced to a caged bird in the sect's Forget-Sorrow Pavilion. Chu Yunlan conceived Lu Ze's own flesh and blood, but still refused to show him a smile. To win her favor, Lu Ze traveled far in search of an immortal herb to safeguard the pregnancy. Before he set out, he took as a disciple the Heavenly Clan princess Ye Yiyun, whose brows and eyes resembled Chu Yunlan's, not knowing this "stand-in" would become a death warrant — Ye Yiyun mistook Chu Yunlan for a "fake" who had seduced the Immortal Lord and, joining forces with the disciples, tortured her to death. After Lu Ze returned, heartbroken, he fell to the demonic path, bathed the sect in blood, and hunted down the Heavenly Clan to avenge his beloved. He even forged a Soul-Binding Lamp from his heart's blood in an attempt to reshape her body. Unexpectedly, the Heavenly Clan destroyed the lamp and attacked. In despair, he heard that an immortal on Qingyun Mountain could reverse life and death. When he dragged his failing body, oil spent and lamp gone dark, to find the immortal, he saw a face identical to Chu Yunlan's. Is this woman the hope of rebirth he has sought through such hardship, or a revenge conspiracy destined to plunge him into hell?
