Immortal Descends: Healing His Mute Wife

Lu Ming fails his immortal tribulation and is forced to reincarnate into the body of a dead gambler in the mortal world. He wakes to find he has a mute wife named Lin Qingxue, and is confronted by his friend Luo Ye about staying away from home.

Lu Ming sees his mute wife Lin Qingxue signing for him to eat, but finds the food barely edible. He notices she only eats greens and learns she has just one meal a day, realizing how poorly his predecessor treated her. Moved, he shares the table with her and resolves to experience this marriage fully.

Luo Ye arrives with a friend, claiming unstoppable luck and pressuring Lu Ming for gambling money. Lu Ming reads their faces and warns of imminent disaster, urging them to stay away. Luo Ye then forces the mute wife Lin Qingxue to hand over cash, scoffs at the amount, and threatens to deal with her.

Lu Ming slaps Luo Ye and throws him out, warning him never to bully his wife again. After Luo Ye flees, Lu Ming comforts Lin Qingxue and hands her the family savings. When she mentions selling her paintings, he praises her work and declares that from now on, he will earn the money.

Lu Ming diagnoses Lin Qingxue's muteness and says it requires a rare pill. The landlady Fang Shen storms in demanding six months' back rent and insults Lu Ming. As Lin Qingxue tries to stall with money, Lu Ming carves a piece of wood on the spot and offers it to settle the debt, stunning Fang Shen.

Lu Ming offers a gold spoon to cover six months' back rent, but Fang Shen doubts its origin and refuses to accept it. Lin Qingxue speaks up for him, yet Fang Shen only grants one more month's grace for her sake.

After Fang Shen leaves, Lin Qingxue asks about the gold spoon. Lu Ming claims he won it in a lucky draw. She cries with relief that he did not gamble it away, and he promises to quit gambling. Realizing he must earn money quickly, he heads to Antique Street after a call from Luo Ye.

Lu Ming tries his luck at a gambling stone stall and cuts a piece worth over twenty thousand. Wu Laosan urges him to buy more, but Lu Ming stops while ahead. With just over two hundred yuan left, he picks the cheapest stone from a bin of scraps.

Lu Ming's cut piece sparks a bidding war. Wu Laosan offers 1.5 million yuan as a final price and warns others against buying. Lu Ming questions the strong-arm tactics and refuses to sell, taking only a two-hundred-yuan scrap.

As Lu Ming is about to leave with two scraps, Shi Ye appears on the antique street and offers two million yuan for the stone. Lu Ming identifies two rare medicinal ingredients inside it, realizing he has found key components for a wind spirit pill.

Shi Ye suggests they talk elsewhere and gives Lu Ming the two-million-yuan stone for free. Lu Ming follows him to a tea room, where they run into his friend Luo Ye. Luo Ye tells Shi Ye that Lu Ming is his brother and insists he never disclosed Shi Ye's medicinal needs.

In the tea room, Lu Ming recites the full formula of Shi Ye's pill, shocking even Shi Ye's attendants. Shi Ye realizes the recipe was never disclosed and suspects Lu Ming is a master alchemist.

Lu Ming reveals a fatal flaw in Shi Ye's pill formula, warning that long-term use can cause severe symptoms and even death. Shi Ye's subordinate objects, but Shi Ye admits he has been suffering chest pain and palpitations. Lu Ming concludes the alchemist is either incompetent or trying to kill him.

Lu Ming casually rubs Shi Ye's pill between his palms and claims its properties are now improved, with greater benefits and no side effects. Though stunned, Shi Ye agrees to try it. Lu Ming then asks for two ounces each of three rare herbs. Shi Ye promises to have them ready the next day, free of charge, as a gesture of friendship.

Luo Ye urges Lu Ming to stop gambling. Lu Ming insists he is only buying clothes for his wife, but Luo Ye remains skeptical and hands over all his savings. Shi Ye questions Qin Zhu about Lu Ming. Qin Zhu admits he felt an overwhelming pressure when he tried to strike, calling Lu Ming strange.
