North Sea: Storm and the Scale Queen

Evie shows off her magic, only to be dismissed by her father as a burden destined for marriage. Before leaving, he promises that the whole North Sea will one day be hers. When someone calls Evie a stray, her sister Aurora steps in to defend her.

Aurora arrives at the Ashford-Vance engagement banquet and is blocked by a woman who calls her a mud rat. The woman claims to be Evie's friend and orders guards to throw Aurora into the sea. Aurora fights back just as Evie appears.

Evie stops the woman who insulted Aurora and declares publicly that Aurora is her sister, ordering the woman to leave. The sisters reunite and Evie recalls their father's cold favoritism toward Cedric and Aurora's promise to support her. Inside the banquet hall, Julian's mother spots Aurora, calls her a filthy stray, and demands she be thrown out.

Julian welcomes Aurora as an honored guest and shows her House Ashford's war dragons, boasting of their power. Unimpressed, Aurora is dared to approach the strongest dragon, while Julian schemes to teach her a lesson.

Aurora dismisses Julian's posturing and suggests Theodore take Evie on a date. House Ashford scrambles to prepare for the Dragon Queen's banquet, with Julian threatening punishment for any mistake. A Fire Ridge dragon submits silently, confirming her arrival.

Townsfolk swap tales of the Dragon Queen slaying a Kraken and commanding ten thousand dragons with a single phrase. At House Ashford, a ceremonial dragon is primed to sense her presence. As the household waits for Evie, the dragon bows, and the Queen appears to a chorus of welcomes.

A woman named Aurora arrives at the engagement party, claiming to be Evie's sister. The guests mock her as a disowned beggar. Julian refuses to defend her and instead declares she must earn a dragon's approval or be thrown out.

The guests demand Aurora take the dragon taming trial or be thrown out. Evie calls it a death sentence and offers to end her engagement rather than let her sister risk her life, but Aurora steps forward calmly. The gate opens to reveal the Slayer, a beast that devoured a harbor and killed twelve knights three years ago.

Evie accuses Julian of breaking his oath to protect everyone she loves, but he coldly replies that Aurora chose to enter. The dragon unleashes fire, lightning and poison, and the guests call it a catastrophe-level beast, betting Aurora will not last three seconds. Evie cries out as Aurora and the dragon vanish.

Aurora emerges unharmed, but the guests accuse her of using dark magic to bewitch the dragon and call for her arrest. Evie steps in front of her sister, denouncing the Ashfords' ingratitude. Julian's mother insults both sisters, and Evie demands to know if Julian shares that contempt, severing their bond.

Thyra introduces herself as Julian's real fiancée. Julian admits he only used Evie to get close to the Dragon Knight commander and mocks her. Evie declares their engagement over.

Aurora lashes out at Julian and Thyra, declaring that even the Dragon Knight commander would propose to Evie. Thyra orders her men to teach Aurora a lesson, but a voice speaking the ancient dragon tongue stops them.

A high-ranking Dragon Knight officer appears. Thyra's side accuses Evie of using dark magic to control the three-headed dragon and insult the Dragon Queen. Aurora tries to defend her, but the officer orders Evie seized. A voice in the ancient dragon tongue stops them, and everyone kneels.
