The Wildest Security Guard Awakens

Security guard Zhang Yi is shaken down by a colleague but can't even produce 320 yen. His manager then berates him in public for taking three days off last month and leaving his post for five minutes to go to the bank.

Zhang Yi is attacked by two men but suddenly fights back, knocking them to the ground. The manager rushes over to stop the commotion and is stunned by what he sees.

Zhang Yi feels unwell after the fight. President Xu insists on taking him for a full-body checkup. When Zhang Yi talks back, he is scolded by others and only then realizes she is his boss. Xu privately arranges cash for his exam and warns him to keep her malatang outing a secret.

President Xu tells Zhang Yi to rest for a few days and has Lin Jia bring his personnel file to the office. After leaving, Zhang Yi feels strange, as if his soul is being pulled away. He then notices something unusual and wonders whether someone can see him too.

After leaving the office, Zhang Yi undergoes a violent physical change, as if struck by an unknown force. He is stunned to find his senses sharpened, allowing him to see someone far away, and he suspects the other person can see him too.

After sending his bonus to family, Zhang Yi rushes to President Xu, who has just been attacked. She is only grazed but wants the incident kept quiet, and hands Zhang Yi her bank card and car keys for repairs, leaving others to question why she trusts a mere security guard.

Zhang Yi is cornered by a group who repeatedly demand to know if he will pay four thousand yen. Amid the chaos, someone calls for a halt, then urges a quick escape, and Zhang Yi ends up on the ground.

Colleagues gossip about President Xu's unusual interest in Zhang Yi and worry he might reveal her secret about eating malatang. Xu decides to have her bodyguard Xiao Yu spar with Zhang Yi, saying surviving ten rounds counts as passing. When Zhang Yi reports the repair is done, Xu hands him the 240,000 yen fee as medical expenses.

President Xu offers Zhang Yi a job as her personal bodyguard and driver, but he refuses. She proposes a sparring match with Xiao Yu: surviving ten rounds earns 160,000 yen a month, twenty rounds earns 300,000. Zhang Yi asks what he gets if he defeats Xiao Yu. Xu promises 1.2 million yen a month, and he accepts the challenge.
