The Fallen Knight: The War God Returns

Lydia gives Kale a bracelet as a wedding gift and chooses his inherited pendant in return. Still troubled by the pendant's connection to his birth parents, Kale heads home and finds his house on fire.

Kale learns that Rosalie had his house burned down. Elsewhere, the duke's family raises the reward for the missing Ronan, while a familiar pendant prompts Lydia to investigate Kale's connection to House Draven.

Rosalie admits burning the house, yet House Vale still orders Kale to clear beasts from the border. Refusing to let them dismiss his years of service, he resigns, while Lydia arranges a new home for them.

Rosalie and Damien assume Kale is still clinging to the past, but he rejects their taunts. When his old friend Bram invites him to a hunting feast, Kale surprises him by introducing his wife, Lydia Valmont.

Lydia insists that Kale stay with her as her husband. Meanwhile, Rosalie demands the surprise Damien promised and sets her sights on a gemstone necklace, unaware that his father ordered it as a gift for Lydia.

Lydia notices that Kale was adopted at the same age Ronan disappeared and uses a family wedding rite to obtain blood for verification. Hearing about the bonfire feast, she tells Kale to choose the finest warhorse and attend as her husband.

Lydia goes to the temple to have the High Priest verify Kale's bloodline. At the feast, the old commander gives Kale a tournament invitation, provoking resentment; Damien's arrival brings more questions from Kale's former classmates.

Damien humiliates Kale with an offer of stable work and assumes the banquet's special hospitality is meant for him. Meanwhile, Lydia receives confirmation that Kale is the missing Ronan and directs his parents to the hunting camp.

Damien expects the rare wine to be served in his honor, but the chief steward presents it to Kale. Recognizing Lydia's bracelet, the steward explains that House Valmont ordered the highest hospitality for her husband.

As Ronan's parents travel to the camp, Damien accuses Kale of posing as Lydia's husband and claims she is already betrothed to him. Calling the bracelet stolen, he orders the guards to stop Kale and finally draws his own sword.
