I Hear Babies, Billionaires Beg For Me

Sophie, twenty-five, interviews for a nanny job at the Hale mansion. She suddenly hears baby Theo's thoughts, complaining about his diaper and a prick in his leg. Before she can react, a call from the hospital informs her that her mother's acute kidney failure has worsened and requires immediate dialysis and a transplant.

Sophie learns her mother's treatment requires a hundred thousand dollars and asks her friend Liz about high-paying jobs. Liz mentions the Hales are hiring a head nanny at an insane salary, though their little master has driven off over a dozen nannies. On her way to the interview, Sophie is knocked down in an accident and wakes up able to understand a baby's thoughts, resolving to land the Hale job.

Sophie arrives at the Hale interview and is mocked for her street-artist look. The interviewer orders all candidates to remove their outer garments and shoes, sparking outrage and one immediate ejection. Sophie endures for her mother's sake while watching candidates with tattoos, heavy makeup, and excess weight get rejected one by one.

Mrs. Hale dismisses Sophie for having no credentials, saying every other candidate has over ten years of experience. Sophie begs to stay, crying that her mother is in the hospital and needs the money. A servant rushes in to report that Master Theo won't stop crying and no one can calm him down.

Sophie insists on calming the crying Theo despite everyone's doubts. She finds a tiny prick stuck in his clothes and removes it, and Theo quiets at once. Surprised, Mrs. Hale allows Sophie to stay on a seven-day trial.

Mr. Keller orders Sophie to change her entire outfit and makeup. She complies for the salary but insists on changing herself. Mrs. Hale finds her unorthodox yet compliant, while someone already schemes to find a reason to throw her out.

Sophie is put fully in charge of Theo's feeding, bathing, and diaper changes, and warned that he is highly sensitive and cries unpredictably. When she stays with him at night, he wails that his pajamas are scratchy and his bottom hurts, so Sophie sets out to find the cause.
