Immortal Descends, Wife Heals First

Elias Harper arrives at a gambling stone stall and eyes a raw stone priced at 7,300. Onlookers warn him against it, calling the risk too great, but he insists on taking it. He clashes with the stall owner, Wu Laosan, and pushes ahead despite the objections.

Elias Harper returns home, where his mute wife Xiaolin signs that dinner is ready. Noticing she eats only greens in the kitchen, he brings her to the table to share the meal and urges her to eat more. He reflects on how badly the original owner treated her and resolves to experience mortal life through this marriage.

Luo Ye and another man barge into Elias Harper’s home, claiming unstoppable gambling luck and demanding he fund their trip. Elias reads their faces, warns of disaster, and refuses. They turn on Xiaolin, force her to bring money, then curse her for the small sum.

Luo Ye insults Xiaolin, and Elias slaps him and throws him out. After the men leave, Elias calms Xiaolin, sees she still paints to earn money, and tells her to keep the cash—from now on, he will provide.

Elias diagnoses Xiaolin's muteness as curable but notes the ingredients are rare. Xiaolin wants to give up, citing their poverty, but Elias is determined to heal her. Fang Shen bursts in demanding six months' back rent, and Elias hands her a wooden carving as payment.

Fang Shen scoffs at the golden spoon Elias offers for rent, calling it a fake and berating him for deceiving Xiaolin. Elias insists it is real gold and challenges her to call the authorities. Unwilling to accept goods of unknown origin, Fang Shen grants one more month of grace for Xiaolin's sake.

After Fang Shen leaves, Xiaolin asks about the golden spoon. Elias explains he won it in a raffle. Xiaolin cries with relief that he did not gamble it away, and Elias vows to quit gambling. Determined to earn money quickly to make a pill, he receives a call from Luo Ye about a job interview on Antique Street.

Elias arrives at a stone-gambling stall where Wu Laosan pushes expensive rough stones. Elias insists on spending only two hundred yuan and picks a piece from a pile of castoffs, to Wu Laosan's disdain.

Xiaolin spots Elias at the stone-gambling stall and grows suspicious. Bidders drive the price of his rough stone to 1.5 million, but Elias refuses to sell and walks away with only the two-hundred-yuan castoff.

Xiaolin hesitates outside the gambling-stone stall but decides to give Elias time to change. Shi Ye appears, recognizes the quality of Elias's stone, and offers two million on the spot. Elias instead identifies two rare medicinal ingredients inside the stone needed to refine a Wind Spirit Pill.

Shi Ye is stunned that Elias can see inside the stone and invites him to a teahouse. Elias casually gives away the two-million-yuan stone, shocking everyone. At the teahouse, Shi Ye discovers Elias already knows Luo Ye.

Qin Zhu suddenly talks nonsense, and Elias realizes he took Shi Ye's special pill. Elias picks up a pill, calls it trash that even dogs wouldn't eat in the Immortal Realm, and recites its full recipe and preparation method, shocking Shi Ye.

Elias explains that the pill's crude formula and poor preparation will cause severe heart problems and even death with prolonged use. Shi Ye admits he already feels chest pain and palpitations, but Elias declines to get involved and prepares to leave.

Elias alters the pill's properties with a casual rub, astonishing Luo Ye and Shi Ye. He admits he wants something in return and requests two ounces each of three rare herbs. Shi Ye agrees to provide them the next day, free of charge, as a gesture of friendship.

Luo Ye urges Elias not to gamble and gives him all his savings, but Elias insists he is buying clothes for his wife. Luo Ye agrees to deliver the herbs if Shi Ye sends them, though he doubts it will happen. Meanwhile, Shi Ye questions Qin Zhu about why he knelt during the confrontation, and Qin Zhu admits he felt an overwhelming pressure from Elias.
