Sold to the Ice King

Daisy and her clique drench Aria, dig out the medical books she uses to research her grandmother's illness to mock her, and joke about listing her online for a hundred bucks. Hockey captain Damon steps in to stop them and says only: come with me.

Damon brings Aria into the hockey team's locker room so she can wash off the mess and change into a fresh robe. He asks how long she's been bullied; two years, she says. Then Damon dangles the bait: next month's homecoming queen, do you want it?

Damon promises to make her homecoming queen instead of Daisy and pay her tuition, simply because he wants to take away what Daisy wants most. Aria asks what it will cost her. His answer: crossing lines, and obedience.

After Aria walks away, she is accused of cheating on an exam and her scholarship is revoked, while her grandmother's 10,000 in medical bills are due that very night. Daisy barges into the hospital room and sends her grandmother into critical condition. Out of options, Aria goes back and accepts all of Damon's terms.

This time Aria doesn't refuse. Damon has her take off her shoes and stand on the ice for a one-hour test, then asks who she is. First she answers Aria; finally she changes her answer: I'm yours.

Damon counts down from ten and orders Aria to his side; she makes it at the last moment. But his next command leaves her at a loss. This game of obedience is far harder than she imagined.

Aria says through tears that she can't do it, and thinks Damon will give up on her. After leaving the rink, she's cornered on the street by Daisy's clique, who try to shove her into a car to humiliate her on a livestream.

Damon arrives with a gun. Daisy's followers instantly pin all the blame on Daisy, who then begs for mercy by invoking the ties between their families. Damon gives them just thirty seconds, then helps Aria up, blood at the corner of her mouth.

The Vances are a notorious Italian mafia family. Damon has her grandmother moved into the best room for the best treatment. Learning who he really is, Aria isn't afraid; she only says she's willing to give him everything she has.

Damon hands her a contract: Party B, Aria, obeys Party A unconditionally; Party A guarantees she will be elected homecoming queen and covers all expenses. The medical bills have been paid in full, and early on election day, the people he sends are there to make the whole school forget who she used to be.
