Old Town Cinema: Choice 248
The old cinema's projector breaks down again, forcing Xu Qing to decide between an expensive repair and replacing the equipment, while Jiang Xu explains after an inspection that neither option can fully preserve the original experience. Checking the film sources and maintenance capacities, she ultimately chooses reliable new equipment and keeps the old displayable parts in the lobby. The cinema loses the familiar mechanical hum but preserves normal screenings; this choice grants commemorating the past and continuing operations their distinct places.
