Lila's/Logan's POV.
A/N
I wrote the first couple of chapters a loooong time ago. Then I finished the story a year ago, but the first couple of chapters may be a little confusing with a lot of POV switches. Hope you'll survive :)
“I’m sure he will be here soon, honey,” my mom says.
My sister is pacing around the room, flexing her hands. “He better be!”
I wring my hands while I keep looking at the clock. “He’s twenty minutes late. Why isn’t he here?” The knot in my stomach grows and I’m worried. Very worried. Then there’s a knock on the door and my dad comes in. “Honey, Henry found this letter. It’s addressed to you.”
I go over to him, and he gives it to me. Looking at it, I see my name on the envelope. It’s his handwriting. It’s from Christopher, my fiancé.
I open it with shaky hands, take out the piece of paper, and read it.
Christopher: Lila, my love. I’m so sorry. I can’t go through with this. I’ve had my doubts for some time, and it tells me that I’m not ready. I shouldn’t have let it get this far. I can’t marry you. I hope you can forgive me. Christopher.
My knees buckle under me, making me fall to my knees. He… He left me? He left me on our wedding day? Our fucking wedding day?
Tears sting in the back of my eyes, my body starts shaking, and I’m having a hard time breathing.
My mom comes over to me and asks, “what does the letter say?”
When I don’t say anything, she bends down and takes the letter out of my hands before she starts reading it. Then she says, “he didn't…”
Tears run down my cheeks and I’m having an even harder time breathing.
“What’s happening? What does it say?” my sister, Eliza, asks. Mom reads the letter out loud, and the room goes so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
“THAT SON OF A BITCH!” my sister yells, making my mom give her a look before she says, “Eliza, language!”
“Are you serious? This is one of those times where profanity is very much appropriate!”
Clutching my chest, I start to hyperventilate. “He… He left me…”
I’ve been together with Christopher for five years. Five. Fucking. Years! And now he’s leaving me?
My dad gently gets me on my feet and hugs me tightly. I’m numb. My body is numb, and I can’t get myself to hug him back.
Suddenly, the door bursts open and Henry, Christophers best friend, walks in. “What did the letter say? Christopher just left.”
I start to hyperventilate even more.
“I need air. I… I need to get out of here.”
My dad lets go of me and I immediately run past everyone and out of the church, gasping for air. I can’t handle this. I need to get out of here.
Picking up the skirt on my wedding dress, I start running down the street. I have no idea where I’m going, I’m just letting my legs decide for me.
After running for I don’t know how long, I find myself on an empty dirt road where I stop to try to catch my breath. Then I take off my heels and throw them as far away as I can before I fall down to my knees and scream at the top of my lungs, “WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME? WAS I NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?”
I’m full on crying now because my heart is shattered. How can somebody do this to someone they love? At least I thought he loved me...
Just then, I hear roars coming from down the dirt road and motorcycles drives past me, but I can hear that one of them stops behind me.
“Hey, are you alright, sweetheart?”
I jump at the sound of his voice. “Jesus freaking Christ.” He chuckles and says, “not quite. Wanna tell me what you’re doing out here in a wedding dress?”
“None of your business! Just leave me alone!”
He leans against his bike and crosses his arms over his chest, looking amused. “Can’t do that, sweetheart. I’m a sucker for a damsel in distress.”
I narrow my eyes at him as a surge of anger runs through my veins. “FUCK YOU! FUCK HIM! FUCK EVERYBODY!”
I frantically pull at the ribbons on the back of my dress, rip it open, and let the dress fall to the ground. Then I jump on it as hard as I can and kick it in a puddle of mud.
I whip my head around and look at him. “WHAT?” He looks amused again as he points at me, and I realize… I’m standing in front of him, only wearing my expensive lingerie.
I throw my hands up in the air. “Great. Just fucking great.”
He looks me up and down before he takes off his black leather jacket and offers it to me. Looking at it for a moment, I take it and put it on before I mumble, “thanks.”
He just nods with a smirk tugging on the corner of his lips. Then he asks, “so, where are you headed?” I sigh and slowly shake my head. “I don’t know. Just leave me alone.”
“Nah. What kind of man would I be if I just left you here?” His eyes roam down my body again, making me blush a little. Then he asks, “can I drive you home?” I quickly shake my head. “No, I’m NOT going back there!”
“Alright then. Where do you want to go?
I think while I look at him for a moment before I say, “somewhere they serve alcohol.” He chuckles. “I know a place. If you can handle a bar filled with bikers, I can take you there.”
I look at him for another moment. I mean, really look at him. His arms are covered with tattoos, he has long brown hair put up in a man bun, a beard, and dark brown eyes. He’s actually a handsome man, but I couldn’t care less about that right now.
“Probably not but don’t worry. I’ll protect you, sweetheart.” He winks at me, making me roll my eyes. “Fine, let’s go.” He holds out a helmet to me and I put it on before I point at the bike. “How does this work?”
A smirk tugs on his lips while he gets on it and holds out his hand to me. For some reason, I take it without hesitation, and he helps me on the back of the bike. I’m not really afraid of him. He has kind eyes so he could be a good guy. He did offer to help me. He could be a psycho though but right now, I don’t care. I just need a distraction from the heartbreak I’m feeling.
He reaches behind him, takes my hands, and wraps my arms around his waist. Then he starts the bike, making it roar to life before looking at me over his shoulder with a smirk on his face. “Hold on tight, sweetheart.”
The bike shoots forward and he drives down the dirt road at high speed, but I don’t care. I just tilt my head back, close my eyes, and take a deep breath.
Suddenly, his hand is on my thigh, making me jump in surprise. I feel a low chuckle rumble in his chest before he starts moving his thumb over my thigh.
Before I know it, we stop outside a rundown bar where I can hear loud rock music and laughter coming from inside. He helps me off the bike and helps me take off my helmet. My red curls bounce free, framing my face, which makes him smile.
He gets off the bike and looks me up and down again, making me blush a little. Why the hell did I take off my dress?
“Why don’t we cover up that fine body of yours.” He zips up the leather jacket, looks down at my thigh stockings covered legs, and crouches down. Then he hooks his fingers in my wedding garter and slowly pulls it down my leg while he looks at me and I swallow. Yeah, this isn’t embarrassing at all.
I lift my leg so he can get it off and when he stands up, he puts it in his jeans pocket, making me quirk a brow.
Before I can ask him to give it to me, he takes my hand, lace our fingers together, and leads me towards the bar. When we get inside, it gets quiet, and I look around.
It’s filled with bikers that are looking me up and down, making me tighten the leather jacket around myself.
He leads me over to the bar where he lifts me up on a bar stool, making me yelp in surprise. He smirks and sits down next to me.
The woman behind the bar comes over to us and asks me, “what’s your poison, honey?” I look at the shelves behind her and see that she has my favorite drink, so I say, “whiskey please.”
My 'savior' looks at me and smiles. “A woman after my own heart. Make that two.”
Then a guy comes over to us. “Well, well, well. Who do we have here?”
My 'savior' looks at me before he says, “where’s my manners. I’m Logan.” I just nod. “Lila.” He smiles while he slowly nods. “Beautiful name. This piece of shit is Tommy.”
Tommy smiles at me. “Nice to meet you, Lila. Where did you find this fine lady, Logan?”
“Down the road. Play nice Tommy.”
The bartender comes back, puts the drinks down in front of us, and I down mine in one go. “One more please.”
“Sure thing, honey. Rough day?” she asks. I sigh and nod before I say, “you could say that.”
“Anything I can help you with, darling?” Tommy asks. I look at him with narrowed eyes. “No. Now, back off! You don’t want to mess with me today!”
He smirks. “Uhh. Feisty. I like that.” I scoff and mumble, “fucking men.”
Logan chuckles and says, “I think you should leave her alone, Tommy. I’m betting she’s going to kick your ass if you don’t back off.” Tommy raises his hands in surrender while chuckling. “Alright, alright. Don’t get your panties in a bunch.”
He walks away just as the bartender comes back with another whiskey that I down in one go too. “Keep them coming.”
She smiles at me and nods. Then I look at Logan and say, “thank you for helping me. I have no idea where I would have gone.”
“My pleasure, sweetheart. It’s not every day I get to help a beautiful woman.”
I blush again as I smile a little. He looks at me for a moment before he asks, “where are you gonna go? Do you have a place to stay?”
I sigh. “Well, I could go home to my parents or my sister but I just can’t face them right now.”
“Hm. Well, I can offer you a bed.”
I narrow my eyes at him, making him chuckle. “I promise, no funny business.” I look at him for a moment. He looks nice and sincere. He’s not my type. but there’s something about him. Something that feels safe, so I find myself saying, “okay. Thank you.”
My friends and I were on our way home from a long ride on our motorcycles, just enjoying the freedom of it. When I to my surprise saw Lila in the middle of the road in a fucking wedding dress, I got curious,so I stopped.
She was angry as hell and when she took off that dress… Mm, mm, mm. She had an amazing body. Especially in that sexy lingerie.
I couldn’t just leave her there in the middle of nowhere so I’m glad she came with me.
When we got to the bar, she drank heavily and that girl can handle her liquor but, in the end, she passed out, so I borrowed Tommy’s truck so I could get her to my place. He’s a nice guy but a total horndog.
I drove her to my place where I carried her inside and straight to the bedroom. After putting her down on the bed, I brushed a strand of her curly, red hair away from her forehead. She’s fucking beautiful.
I sat down on a chair with a bottle of water to watch over her the rest of the nigh. In the early morning hours, I went into my living room where I crashed on the couch and started to watch an action movie, but I quickly fell asleep.
Right now, I’m waking up on the couch and looking at the TV that's still on. Then I look at my watch and see that its noon, so I get up and find some pain killers and a bottle of water before I go into my bedroom. She has kicked off the covers in her sleep, showing her amazing body in that fucking lingerie.
Fuck me. She’s even hotter now than she was yesterday.
I pull the covers up to her waist before I sit down and gently run my hand up and down her arm. “Lila? Lila, it’s time to get up.”
She groans, “five more minutes, mom.”
I chuckle and shake my head before I say, “Lila, wake up.” She groans again as her eyes flutter open, and she grabs her head with her hands. “Shit.”
I chuckle again and she looks at me through narrowed eyes. I take one of her hands and gently pull her up so she’s sitting up, making her groan again. “Shit, my head.”
Biting back a smile, I put the painkillers in her hand and give her the bottle of water. “Take these.” She glances at me before she almost mumbles, "thanks.” She pops the pills in her mouth and drink the whole bottle of water before she sighs and asks, “what happened last night?”
“You emptied the bar for whiskey,” I say, making her groan again. “Urgh. I didn’t do anything stupid, did I?” A smirk tugs on the corner of my lips. “Well, you danced on the bar.” Looking mortified, she buries her head in her hands. “Oh God. You stopped me, right?”
Another smirk tugs on my lips. “Nope. It was sexy as hell.” And it really, really was. I got a boner just from looking at her.
She narrows her eyes at me. “Perv.” I chuckle while I nod. “Guilty.”
Getting off the bed, I go over to my closet and find a t-shirt and a pair of sweats. “Put these on. If you want to shower, the bathroom is just down the hall.” She gives me a small smile. “That actually sounds good.
I nod and smile. “Alright. I’ll make us some breakfast while you shower." I go to leave the bedroom, but she stops me when she says, “wait.” I turn around and look at her.
“Thanks again for all of this,” she says, and I smile again. “My pleasure, sweetheart.”
I wink at her before I leave the bedroom and it doesn’t take long before I hear the door to the bathroom close. What I wouldn’t give to be in there with her.
I’m in the shower in what I assume is Logan’s house. I’m freaking embarrassed but I’m also very grateful. I didn’t want to go home to my and Christopher’s apartment last night. Logan gave me just what I needed. Alcohol and a place to crash.
I finish showering, get out, and dry myself off. His bodywash smells nice. It smells manly and I like that.
I put on the t-shirt and sweats that he lent me and go out of the bathroom. Then I hear voices coming from somewhere in the house and I follow the sound that leads me into the kitchen. Logan is standing at the stove, making eggs and bacon while Tommy is sitting at the table.
“Hope you’re hungry, sweetheart,” Logan says, and I smile a little. “I could eat.”
Tommy’s head whips around to look at me and a small smirk spreads on his lips. “Sorry, Logan. I didn’t know you had company.”
“Yes, this sweetheart kept me company all night long.” He winks at me, making me narrow my eyes a little and say, “since I was comatose all night, I’m afraid to ask what your definition of company is.”
He laughs a heartfelt laugh, and I can’t help but smile a small smile.
Sitting down opposite Tommy, Logan plates us some breakfast and sits down next to me.
“Besides you being hungover, how are you feeling today?” he asks. I sigh and shake my head. “I don’t know…”
“Why? What’s wrong?” Tommy asks.
I think about what happened yesterday and the short letter I got from Christopher. He left me just like that. On our fucking wedding day!
Tears sting in my eyes, and I try to blink them back but a couple escapes anyway. Logan starts to gently rub my back in a soothing way which feels nice, even though I don’t know him.
“It’s okay, Lila. You don’t have to tell us anything.”
I take a deep breath before I say with a shaky voice, “no, it’s okay. My fiancé left me yesterday. It was...” I sniffle. "It was our wedding day."

### Chapter 2: Chapter 2
“Shit. That’s rough. He’s an idiot,” Tommy says.
“A total pussy,” Logan continues. “You need a man who will worship you. Who will show you how amazing you are every day.”
I smile a little, but his words go in one ear and out of the other. I thought that was Christopher. I thought he was the man who did that.
Tommy smiles at me. “At your service.” He winks at me, making me roll my eyes. “No thanks, I’m good.” That makes Logan laugh and Tommy fakes being offended. “Hey!”
I pick at my food, not really eating. Thinking about yesterday has made me lose my appetite.
“So, can I take you somewhere today?” Logan asks. “I mean, you can stay here if you want to but then we have to buy some stuff for you.” I shake my head. “No, it’s okay. I might as well get it over with and go to my parents' place.” Logan nods. “Okay, sweetheart.”
I narrow my eyes at him. “Would you stop calling me that?!” He smirks and simply says, “nah.”
Biting back a smile, I shake my head. I don’t know what it is about this guy but there's something about him. Something very calming. I relax in his company, which surprises me. He’s a total stranger but I still feel safe in his presence.
They finish eating and I throw the food on my plate in the garbage bag. “Not hungry?” Logan asks. I jump when I hear his voice coming from right behind me. “Jesus, Logan. No, I’m sorry. I... Lost my appetite.”
“Don’t apologize.” He takes his phone out of his pocket and hands it to me, making me slightly raise my eyebrows and look at him questioningly. “Uh?”
I raise my eyebrows some more. “Why?” He smiles and shrugs before he says, “just because.”
I think for a moment. He seems like a nice guy, so why not? No harm can come from it. It could be nice to have a friend that makes me relax as much as he does, so I tap my info into his phone before I give it back to him.
“Alright then. Ready to go?” he asks, and I sigh. “Yeah.”
We all go outside, and Logan locks the door before he takes my hand and leads me towards his bike.
Pointing at it, I ask, “did you drive me home on that last night?” He chuckles as he shakes his head. “No, I borrowed Tommy’s truck. He rode my bike here today.”
He gives me a helmet and helps me get on the back of the bike. Tommy drives away in his truck and Logan starts the bike before we ride out of his driveway. I give him directions to my parents' house and all the way there, his hand is on my thigh, which makes me feel comfortable in some kind of way.
Thirty minutes later, we arrive at my parents' house, and I’ve barely gotten off the bike before the front door is ripped open and my sister comes running out to us. “Jesus Christ, Lila. Where have you been? And who is this?” she asks as she points at Logan.
“This is Logan. Logan, this is my sister, Eliza.” He smiles at her. “Nice to meet you, Eliza.”
“Uh, you too. Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to take my sister inside.”
To my surprise, Logan wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me to him. Then he kisses my forehead and slaps my ass. “See you later, sweetheart.” He winks at me and drives off, leaving me stunned. Did he seriously just slap my ass?
“Lila Louise Davis! Where have you been? You had us all worried,” my mom says as she almost stomps out to us. Eliza takes my hand and gives it a light squeeze.
“Get inside, now!” mom demands. Eliza squeezes my hand again and says, “come on, sis.”
We follow mom who’s fuming into the house, and I’ve barely gotten inside before my dad pulls me in for a tight hug. “Oh my God, honey.”
There in his arms, I break down. I’ve always gotten along better with my dad than with my mom. My dad has always been more supportive.
“I’m so sorry, Lila,” he whispers while he’s holding me in his arms until my sobs turns to sniffles. Then he gives me a squeeze and says, “come on. Let’s go into the living room.”
We go in there where my mom is sitting in a chair, impatiently tapping her foot. “It’s about time.”
I sit down on the couch and my dad sits next to me while Eliza sits on my other side.
“Where did you go yesterday, Lila? Do you know how worried we’ve been?” mom asks, and I look down at my hands. I hadn’t given anyone else a thought. That was very inconsiderate of me, but I think I was allowed to be a little selfish.
“I’m sorry I made you worry, but I had to get away from everything yesterday.”
“You could have called!” she says.
My mom looks at me with a stern look before she asks, “where’s your dress?”
“Gone? What do you mean by gone?”
I sigh. “It’s just gone, okay?”
There’s a moment of silence before dad asks, “honey, who was that man on the bike?”
“Oh, uhm, that was Logan. He helped me last night.”
Eliza squeezes my hand again before she says, “okay. How did the two of you meet exactly?”
“Uhm, he saw me crying on the side of a road and he offered to help me.”
“You went with that man last night? He could have killed you!” mom says. I sigh because I’m beginning to get a little irritated. “Well, he didn’t, okay?! He helped me. Gave me a place to crash and made sure I got home safely.”
My mom huffs. “What about us? Do you have any idea what you put us through?”
“Excuse me? What I put YOU through? I’m sorry I didn’t stick around after I got left on my wedding day! Yes, I should've called and I’m sorry, but I am NOT the one to blame here!”
“We know that, honey,” dad says with a soft, understanding smile. Mom scoffs, so he says, “Shelley, Christopher is the one to blame, not Lila.”
Mom has always loved Christopher. She has always taken his side and I’m sick and tired of it.
I stand up and I'm about to explode when Eliza gets up, takes my hand, and drags me towards the guest room. “Why don’t we go get you in some other clothes.”
When she has closed the door to the guest room, we go over to the bed where we sit down, and she gives me a small, sad smile. “I’m so sorry, sis.”
I start to cry because my heart breaks all over again. I can’t believe Christopher left me like that. And he couldn’t even say it to my face. No, he wrote a fucking note. Coward.
“Shh. It’s going to be alright,” Eliza says before she wraps her arm around my shoulders. I sniffle and dry my eyes before I ask, “has he called?” She slowly shakes her head. “No.”
We’re silent for a while and we both let out a long sigh. Then she gets a glint in her eyes before she says, “I have to ask; what did you do to your dress? Did you set it on fire?”
I smile a little as I sniffle. “No, it’s in a puddle of mud on some dirt road.” She laughs. “That’s my girl. And this Logan guy saw you naked?”
I can’t help but blush at the memory of him looking me up and down. “Almost. I was wearing my lingerie so he lent me his jacket.”
I tell her everything in detail. What I can remember anyway. We’ve always told each other everything. Shared everything.
When I’m done, she says, “he sounds like a good guy,” I nod. “I think he is.” She gets another glint in her eyes before she asks, “are you going to see him again?”
“So, you’re going to keep his clothes?” she asks. Looking down myself, I sigh. “Oh, I forgot all about that. Well, he has my number if he wants it back.”
She gives me an amused look. “You gave him your number?” I shrug before I say, “yes. Stop looking at me like that. Nothing is going to happen.”
I roll my eyes and go to get some clothes from my suitcase. The one I was supposed to bring on my honeymoon. Fresh tears fill my eyes, but I blink them back and clear my throat.
“What do you want to do today, sis? Get hammered?” Eliza asks, making me groan, “urgh. I’m still hungover, Eliza.” She smiles. “The perfect hangover cure is to never stop drinking. You need to let off some steam.”
Looking at her, I think for a moment. Maybe I should get shitfaced again? The thought of whiskey isn’t really appealing but just like last night, I could use the distraction, so I say, “okay, but no clubs!”
Her face lights up. “Don’t worry, I know that’s not your style.” I give her a grateful smile. I can always count on my sister to try and cheer me up.
“You wouldn’t happen to have my phone, would you?” I ask.
“Yes, it’s right here.” She fishes it out of her pocket and hands it to me. I pray that Cristopher has called or texted me but there’s nothing. Absolutely nothing. I’m surprised to see that I do have a text from an unknown number, though.
Logan: Hey, sweetheart. Now you have my number. I encourage you to use it ;) Logan.
I blush a little, making Eliza quirk a brow. “What’s that face?”
“You’re blushing.” She snatches the phone out of my hands and reads the text.
“Uhh, that’s him. Are you going to text him back?” she asks, and I shake my head. “No.”
“Oh, come ooon. You could use a distractions and he’s a very fine distraction.”
I try to take my phone back, but she jumps up and runs into the bathroom, locking the door behind her. I knock on the door hard while I almost yell, “what the hell, Eliza. Give it back!”
That’s when it hits me. She’s texting him. “ELIZA, DON’T YOU DARE!” I hear her snigger on the other side of the door, so I bang on it harder. “ELIZA!”
She unlocks the door and comes out with a big grin on her face before she gives me my phone. “There you go.” I look at it for a moment before looking at her with slightly narrowed eyes. “What did you do?” I ask before looking at the message she just sent.
Me: Hi, handsome. Meet me at Billy’s tonight at 9pm. Xoxo.
“For fucks sake, Eliza,” I say before quickly sending another text.
Me: Sorry. That was my sister texting you. Just delete it. Lila.
Narrowing my eyes even more, I point my finger at her. “I’m going to kill you!” She’s in a fit of laughter, which makes me narrow my eyes even more if that’s possible.
When she's stopped laughing, she says, “it could be fun.”
“No, it couldn’t. We’re not going to Billy’s tonight!”
“No, Eliza. What if he shows up? I just got dumped on my wedding day. I don’t need this shit.”
She gently takes my hand in hers while she gives me a soft smile. “That’s exactly why you need this shit. You haven’t done anything really fun for five years, Lila. You need to go out a let your hair down.”
“No. What you did yesterday was because you needed to get away. Tonight, it’s because you choose to let go and have some fun without that son of a bitch.”
I sigh again but she’s kind of right. I haven’t done anything really fun for a long time. Yes, Christopher and I had fun, but we didn’t really do anything really fun, so maybe I should just go with it for once? "Alright, alright.”
She squeals and claps her hands together before she hugs me. “I promise you we’re going to have a blast.” I can’t help but smile a little. Now that I’ve said yes, I’m actually getting excited. You never know what Eliza is going to come up with, but I’m going to do my best to go with the flow.
We spend the rest of the day in bed, talking about everything until it’s time for us to get ready.
It's been six months since Christopher left me. A couple of days after it happened, my dad and sister helped me pack my stuff and put it in storage. I’ve been living with my parents since then but earlier today, I found an apartment that’s not too expensive, so tonight, we’re celebrating.
“What are you going to wear?” Eliza asks me and I shrug. “Nothing special. It’s just a bar.”
“That doesn’t mean we can’t dress up.”
I look at my short, white, flowy dress with long sleeves. “What about this one?”
“Yes, that’s perfect. It makes your green eyes pop. Especially with those beautiful red curls of yours.” I smile. “Yeah?”
Eliza turns from side to side, looking at herself in the mirror. “What do you think?”
Looking at the tight, black dress that reaches her mid thigh, I nod. “Very classy and hot. You’re going to be fighting off guys the whole night.”
She smiles and nods. “Good. I could use the attention.” I shake my head with a smile on my lips. Eliza has always been a beautiful girl and she has never had trouble getting attention from men. The last five and a half years, she has been the wild one. That used to be me. I was the wild one before I met Christopher.
Looking back, I now see that I had put a lid on myself, meaning that I wasn’t fully myself while I was with him. I thought I was but now that I’m single again, it’s clear that I wasn’t. Even though it didn’t feel like it at the time, Christopher leaving me was the best thing that happened to me.
We put on some heels, take our clutches, and go downstairs to the living room. “We’re going out. Don’t wait up,” Eliza says.
“Have a nice night, girls,” my dad says, and my mom scolds him. “James!” He looks at her with a raised brow. “What?”
I can’t help but smile. I love my dad. He’s looser than my mom. She has always been very strict and as I've said before; she loved Christopher. I've sometimes thought that she even loved him more than me.
Billy’s is only a small cab ride away, so it doesn’t take long before we’re there. It’s still early, so the place isn’t crowded yet, which makes it easy for me and Eliza to order our drinks.
Then we look around to see if we can spot a free booth and that’s when I see him, sitting with Tommy, looking straight at me. His eyes roam up and down my body, just like they did six months ago, and I feel a slight flutter in my stomach.
I turn around, almost panicking. I’m not sure I want to see him. He saw me dance on a bar half naked for Christ’s sake. How embarrassing is that?
Eliza looks at me and frowns. “Lila? What’s wrong?” I nod towards him. “It’s Logan. He’s here.” She looks around and grins before she takes my hand and drags me over to their booth where she slides in next to Tommy, leaving me no other choice than to sit down next to Logan.
Looking at Eliza, I see her looking at me with one big grin on her face and I sigh in defeat because I know I won’t be able to talk her out of sitting here.
“Hello, ladies,” Logan says and Eliza smiles. “Hi, I’m Eliza.” He returns her smile and says, “I remember.”
Logan drops his arms on the back of my seat. I lean in and whisper, “what are you doing here?” He gives me an amused look before he says, “having a beer with a friend.”
Tommy smiles at me before he says, “Hey, Lila. Long time no see.” Then he looks at Eliza. “And who do we have here?” Eliza smiles at him. “I’m Lila's sister.”
Logan leans in and inhales my scent and then he humms, “you smell nice. It’s good to see you again.” I blush a little. I remember his smell very well. “Uhm, thank you. You too.”
I can’t believe he’s here. I haven’t forgotten him. Far from it actually but I never thought I would see him again.
I down my whiskey and he smirks. “On a mission to get shitfaced again?” I can’t help but chuckle. “I guess it’s something that happens when I’m around you.” He and Tommy laughs and then Tommy asks, “would you lovely ladies like another drink?”
“Yes, please. A gin and tonic,” Eliza says while I say, “whiskey.”
“Coming right up.” He gets up and walks over to the bar before Eliza turns to Logan. “I hear I have you to thank for keeping my sister safe that night.”
He smiles. “Safe, yes, controlled, no.” I slap his chest. “Shh.” Eliza’s face lights up and she says, “uhh, I smell dirt. Spill.”
“Well, your lovely sister here danced on a-.” Logan starts, so I quickly cover his mouth with my hand to shut him up. “I said, shh!”
When I said I told Eliza everything, I left out the part about me dancing on the bar.
Tommy comes back with our drinks and when he sees my hand covering Logan’s mouth, he quirks a brow. Eliza looks at him and asks, “Tommy, you were there with Lila that night too, right?” He nods. “I was.”
He grins while giving me an amused look. “Oh, you’re talking about the dancing?”
Logan places an openmouthed kiss on the palm of my hand, making me yank it away. “Dude!” He just smirks and says, “she danced on a bar.” Eliza’s eyes widen and he continues, “in her underwear.”
My eyes widen because I'm mortified and Eliza bursts out laughing. I did not know that I was only dancing in my lingerie. I thought I was covered in Logan’s leather jacket, so I say, “you didn’t tell me that.”
He smirks again and pretends to think for a moment. “Hmm, must have slipped my mind.” Burying my head in my hands, I mumble, “oh God.”
Eliza has the biggest smile on her face. “Is that true? Did she really do that?”. Tommy grins and nods. “Ohh, yes, she did. It was a hell of a show. I still picture it on lonely nights.”
I give him a horrified look. “Dude!” Eliza bursts out in a fit of laughter. “Way to go, sis.” I quickly shake my head over and over. “No. Not way to go. You should've stopped me, Logan.” He smirks again and shrugs. “Hey, you didn’t want to wear my jacket. Besides, I enjoyed it.”
His fingers start to play with one of my curls and the flutter in my stomach comes back. I glance at him and see that he’s looking at me intensely, making me clear my throat and take a big breath. Stop fluttering damn butterflies. I don’t want butterflies.
Eliza dries her eyes because she’s laughing so hard and manage to say, “I would have paid to see that.”
“So would a lot of others,” Tommy says before he looks at me again. “Logan stopped you after thirty seconds, though.” I look at him. “Yeah?”
I let out a breath of relief. “Thank you. Please don’t let me do that again.”
“Oh, you’re definitely doing that again!” Eliza says. “BARTENDER, ANOTHER ROUND FOR THE TABLE.” I groan and Logan leans in and whispers, “don’t worry, sweetheart. I got you.”
I forgot he had that calming energy about him that makes me relax, and I realize that I’m leaning against him, so I quickly straighten up, but he just wraps his arm around my shoulders and pulls me back against him… And I let him. I miss how relaxed he made me feel that night.
The rest of the night is fun. We all talk and laugh together and it’s nice and freeing. Eliza gets along well with Tommy but it’s not in a sexual way. It’s more in a way where they sound like they’ve known each other for years, which surprises me because they couldn't be more different. She's never been around biker types but to be honest, neither have I.
At some point during the night, I get so drunk that I fall sleep against Logan’s shoulder.
