Part 2
### Chapter 1: 1
Welcome to the new story! I have had many inspirations for this story in my head over the last couple of weeks and if you would like to see more, click The Sin of Him Pintrest board link in my bio! Enjoy!
This house is falling apart. Like seriously. The roof looks like a hole could burst any second. I look up at the ceiling, toothbrush brushing away at my teeth. My eyes apprehensively watch this one part of the ceiling that looks a little off to me.
The house is empty at the moment, which is peaceful. My other roommates, Bailey, my older sister, Persila, and Jasmine, are out at some frat party. They are two years older than me so I tend to not follow them to those things. Not that partying is boring but it's just... not my thing. Especially at the frat house they said it was at. Not my cup of tea.
From my sister it's always, "Brooke, you should come with us, you'd have fun. You have no friends."
I always roll my eyes because if she paid attention, yes I do have friends. And I like them just the way they are. Not alcoholics and super extra extroverts. Boring I know, but things like that tend to get out of hand.
Wearing some plaid pajama pants and a black crew neck I get into bed, pulling up my computer to go over everything I have to do tomorrow.
My decision to live with my sister was one that made my finances a little more comfortable. I have a job at the dance studio and work four days a week, so I help pay what needs to be paid and keep some savings to go toward debt and all that.
I wasn't going to let my sister rub it in that she's letting me live here so I made sure I could contribute what I could. Bailey is... an interesting person, who has always played the role of big sister to the extent of making sure she was better than me. Not that I ever minded, she's pretty, popular, whatever the movies describe as Miss. Perfect pretty much sums her up.
I'd like to say I'm pretty too with my dark hair and hazel eyes, and I'm not so worried about out playing my sister.
My phone buzzes next to me and I see a text from my friend Kai,
Kai: Girl, are you in your bed again?
I roll my eyes and shake my head.
Me: Yes, you have a problem with that?
Kai: I thought our goal this month was to get out more! I need a man Brooke! A man!!
Laughter spills out of my mouth. Kai is one of my best friends. He and I met the first day of classes in English and we hit it off really well. His taste in men is mostly boys who will give him attention. And yes, I've tried to tell him that it's not good to do that.
Kai: I'm adding Hanna to this convo.
Hanna: Kai, what is it now?
Me: He's bullying me about my introvert ways
I end that text with an emoji with its tongue out. My phone rings a second later with a Group FaceTime call.
"Brooke, I was not bullying you," Kai starts, face appearing on the screen. His light brown skin illuminated by the light of his room, and his long-ish black hair pulled into a bun. I laughed at his defense. "I'm literally so bored." He says and I see him flop back onto his bed.
Hanna appears a second later. Her cornrowed hair style pulled into a low pony and her glasses covering her eyes. Her dark skin seems to be illuminated by the flash of her phone."Kai, can I please go to sleep in peace!" Hanna groans.
"Hanna, this isn't about you." Kai says, squinting his eyes.
She scoffs. "Then why am I here!"
"Guys!" I call out to interrupt. "Okay, we are all tired. We can make plans to do whatever the hell Kai wants to do this weekend." I say. I pull my hair up into a ponytail with the hair tie on my wrist and sigh. "The roomies are out partying again." I say, sarcastically enthused.
Hanna groans. "I'm not helping you clean like last time."
Better yet, I don't want to clean like last time. I shiver thinking about how all three girls took turns pukeing in different places of the house. Talk about disgusting, time to move out type of stuff.
I gag with mock disgust. "Yeah, I am not doing that again."
We all shake our heads in remembrance.
Kai makes a sigh. "Okay, let's plan to go to a party this weekend."
"Kai,"
"I don't-"
"No!" Kai interrupts. "Remember the pact? We are following through. Okay?"
Hanna and I sigh. "Fine." We say at the same time.
"Good, you two can sleep now." He says and we hang up FaceTime a few moments later.
Just as I'm about to place my phone on the end table, my phone goes off again. Thinking it's Kai or Hanna again, I pick it up to see what's going on. But to my surprise it's Bailey. Which is odd because Bailey never calls me when she's at a party.
"Hello?" I ask into the phone.
"B?" Bailey's voice says, seeming like she was just crying.
"Bailey, what's wrong?" I ask, sitting up in my bed.
She sucks in a sob. "Luc- Lucas broke up with me," she says sobbing into the phone.
I puff out a breath of relief. Not that I'm happy she's heartbroken, but I thought something was seriously wrong. Like she was hurt or in danger.
"I'm sorry, why did he break up with you?" I ask, kindly. Usually when it comes to boys, Bailey goes through them every few months. It's sad, but she never seems to stick with one for very long. Her taste in men is frat boys and football players. I guess that answers the question right there.
"I don't know! We were fine this morning when I left his house," Okay then. "And then he just breaks up with me tonight!" She cries into the phone again and I frown.
"Where's Persila and Jasmine?" I ask.
She sniffles. "Out with the guys." She says. "Can you come get me?"
I squint my eyes. "What?"
"Please? Please? Please?" She pleads. "I can't be here anymore with all his friends and random people."
I consider that. I look at the clock beside my bed and it's 2 am. "There's no way you could take Persila's car?" I feel rude saying this but I'm a little nervous about showing up to some frat party at two in the morning.
"I've had some drinks." She says.
Darn. I sigh. "Okay, text me the address."
I hang up the phone and put some leggings on. I look in the mirror to see that I look like crap but I could care less. It's not like I want any of these people to like me.
I grab Bailey's keys off the counter and get in the car. I make my trip to the frat house and pull up to a still booming party. I bite my lip while watching the packed house light up like it's the Fourth of July.
I take a deep breath and get out of the car. I walk up the steps and the people outside don't even pay attention to me.
I shift through a bunch of people trying to find Bailey but I can't find her on the bottom floor. There's people everywhere. If Kai wants to go to a party, it better not be this one. Pushing past more people than I can count, I walk toward the stairs and up them, trying to keep an eye out for Bailey.
People are making out, drinking, talking, yelling, singing loudly to the music, smoking. All the joys of upper class-man college parties.
I reach a hallway with doors lined up. The hallway is seemingly empty. I'm a little nervous to start opening doors so I stop and text Bailey on where she is.
"Hey, hottie," a voice from behind me calls and I freeze. My fingers are still on the screen of my phone, but have frozen in place.
I decided that maybe he wasn't speaking to me and just stayed turned around. Wrong. I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I roughly shrug it off and turn around. I'm met with a very drunk looking football player. He's not the most appealing to look at with his stained clothes and drunken appearance.
"I've never seen you before." He slurs. He takes a step toward me and I take a step back. "Oh don't be shy. A hot girl like you deserves some attention."
Gross. "Not from you." I say, in a low voice. "Sorry, not interested." I say in a straight voice, trying my best not to panic.
He scoffs. He then takes more steps toward me. I do my best to back away but he is quicker than me, even in his drunk state. He grabs my arm and pushes me into the wall.
"Get off of me!" I exclaim.
His hand doesn't budge. This is where I begin panicking. His half lidded smile will haunt my dreams, probably forever.
"Get off of her Bryson," a deep voice calls from the hallway.
I peek my head over and see a tall guy, messy light brown hair, and tattoos peeking out of his black sweatshirt.
Bryson doesn't let go of me and just chuckles. "What are you going to do Roman? Beat me up?" That seems to be a joke but I bet this Roman guy could, by the way he's glaring at him.
Roman smirks and waltzes over to us. His muscular hand roughly lands on Bryson's shoulder and yanks him away.
I quickly rush away from them and Roman pushes him against the wall by his stained shirt. "Remember this next time when you want to touch a girl like that." He spits in his face. "If there's a next time, I'm sure as hell not going to let you off this easily."
Bryson looks genuinely nervous at Roman's threat. Roman releases Bryson's shirt and scurries off.
I take in a shaky breath looking over at Roman. "I'm sorry." I say.
Roman snorts. "What are you sorry for?"
I shrug.
"Don't worry about it," he says. "Asshole like Bryson deserves it."
He locks eyes with me and I can now see they are copper brown, almost hazel but not quite. His messy brown hair hangs down his face and the lip ring on his bottom lip catches in the light of the hallway.
I avert my eyes, remembering why I was here in the first place. "Do you know Bailey? Bailey Covet?"
His eyebrows scrunch together. "Yeah, she's in that bathroom." He says, pointing to a door down the hallway.
Now it's my turn to scrunch my eyebrows. "How did you know?"
He shrugs. "I live here. I've been trying to keep distance from the party all night and I saw her walk in there."
My eyes widen. "You live here?"
He nods.
Huh. "Well, thank you." I say.
He nods and walks away. Okay then.

### Chapter 2: 2
I open the door to the bathroom and Bailey looks up, mascara streaking down her cheeks. She smiles and jumps up from her spot on the toilet seat.
"B!" She exclaims and bear hugs me.
It shocks me a bit and she hugs me so tight I can't breath.
"Bailey," I force out. "Cant. Breath."
She releases me. "Oops." She says. "Thank goodness you came." She says in relief. "I thought I was going to explode if I had to see Lucas again." Disgust fills her features.
I give her a sad smile. "Well, let's go." I say. "I have classes and work tomorrow. It's almost time for me to get up anyways."
She rolls her eyes, following me out of the dirty bathroom. "You don't need to get up so early y'know? You have time and you're a college freshman. You'll be fine to sleep in a bit."
I shake my head chuckling. "I like to be prepared." I really do. I've always been that way. My mom used to claim it was anxiety, which I don't think is totally incorrect, but it helps me feel better to know I'm not a deer in the headlights.
The party seems to be slowing down and the house is quieter. We walk down the stairs and some people are passed out on the floor or couches in the larger living room area. And some of the frat boys are throwing stuff away.
I catch that guy Bryson staring at me from the corner of the room. I gulp in anxiousness but then I also see Roman. He's standing against a counter, a water bottle in his hand, gripping tight around the plastic bottle. His eyes are slits as he watches over Bryson. It kind of shocks me to see. I don't even know the guy but he swooped to my rescue because Bryson thought it was a grand idea to touch me. Once Bryson turned away, Roman locks eyes with me. I don't know what it is about him that intrigues me, but I'm not sure I have the willpower to find out.
I've been so busy lately, I haven't even thought about relationships, boys, etc. Guys tend to ignore me, or at least, Kai says I'm intimidating and guys are scared to approach me. I always brush it off because I'm not sure I'm ready for relationships and what not. But Roman's dark stare pulls me in more than I think I want it to.
I avert my eyes and keep walking towards the door. Trying my best not to trip over things in the hallways. Bailey and I pass by Persila and Jasmine who are all cozied up in a small living room with two guys I don't know.
"I'm leaving," Bailey announces to them.
"Aw why Bay?" Persila asks, not even glancing up from the drunk looking guy she's sitting on. She's clearly drunk too and doesn't care, but she makes an attempt to change her tone. The guy in front of her looks like he could pass out any second.
I look at Bailey who rolls her eyes. Classic Bailey. "Nothing, just tired. Come on B." Bailey says and pulls me from the room and out the front door.
We get to the car and Bailey looks sad again. I put a hand on her shoulder. "It's going to be okay, Bailey." I say. "Frat boys are never worth it unless there's some miracle that he's actually a good guy." I say and scuff.
She chuckles through some tears. "Thanks B." She says. "I'm really glad you're here now."
Bailey and I were the typical sisters growing up. I never even thought going to the same college as her was even an option. But when it came time to make my decision. This school was the best choice for me. And I could live with Bailey to make my stay a little easier.
Besides the house that likes the fall apart, I'm happy here. I've made friends, gone to classes, have a great job, and could really see myself building a life here too.
I smile at her. "Me too."
TTTTTTTTT
I basically am sprinting into the dance studio, that next afternoon. When I got out of Bailey's car, the dash said it was 4:05 pm. I was supposed to be here at 4:00 pm but my class ran late and I had to stop by the house to change.
Judy at the front desk gives me a sympathetic smile, seeing the rushed look on my face. I puff out an exaggerated breath that makes her laugh.
"Natalia started for you," she says, making me feel a tad better.
"Okay awesome, thank you!" I say to her and rush to room B.
When I open the door, I see Natalia, one of my students, leading the class in stretches. The rest of the class look up and smile at me.
"Sorry I'm late!" I apologize. "Keep going, I'll start when you guys are done."
They nod in agreement and keep stretching. I sit on the stool by the speakers and sigh in relief. At least I made it semi on time. This has happened before. My boss, Laura, knows my schedule so I made sure to let her know I could be late sometimes. The only Marketing class available was at 3 and I have this class at 4. Cutting it close for someone who's always prepared huh.
For some stupid reason my mind retreats back to last night and Roman. It hasn't left my mind how he basically appeared out of nowhere and saved me. That was terrifying and I was about ready to kick him in the balls before he showed up. But I was thankful he did. Remind me to never go to a frat party alone again. Especially in the early hours of the morning.
Watching the girls stretch I'm reminded of my days of dance classes. I definitely miss being the one performing but being able to teach it has been a blessing. From what people tell me, I'm apparently great at it. My goal is to hopefully keep doing this but I'll see where life takes me.
Natalia finishes the stretch and I stand at the front of the room. "Alright, so, are you guys ready to start the routine for the day? We will keep working on this over the next few weeks because I think it will really broaden your abilities. Not just in dance but in performance, stage presence. Attitude."
"Yes!" They all shout.
I chuckle. "We will keep working on this over the next few weeks because I think it will really broaden your abilities. Not just in dance, but in performance. Attitude. Your song is Gimme More by Britney Spears." They all raise their eyebrows. "I know it's a bit much but I wanted to unleash the sass from you guys," the room erupts in a chorus of laughter. "I made sure to keep it clean but I really want you guys to unleash it okay?"
They all nod. "We can do it Brooke." One of my students, Kaia, says.
I smile. "Of course you can." I say. "Alright, let's get started."
