Part 2

### Chapter 1: Billionaire Baby Deal

Prologue

I sat nervously in the posh waiting lounge, staring at the pastel art against the white walls, setting the art off to its full potential. The furniture in the room was awash in blazing white - down to the carpet, which I hardly dared walk on incase I left small dirt tracks in its wake.

I suppose it did set of the splashes of colour in the art work...

"Señor Mendez will see you now, Miss Knight." The stunning secretary with the longest legs I'd ever seen called over to me, batting her long fake lashes sweetly.

I couldn't help but notice the almost fake sweetness she was portraying. Under everything, I'd bet my very last dollar this was the kind of woman that had small pirana's swimming through her body, hatching everyone's downfall around her.

Of couse, nothing but the best and most beautiful for "Señor Mendez" I thought. You didn't get anywhere in this world being nice, least of all working for Diego Mendez.

The king of all pirana's. He scented weakness a hundred mile off, and was quick to attack and devour.

"Thank you." I smiled back warmly, standing up.

Before entering his office, I found myself smoothing back my light golden blonde hair that was tied back into a high ponytail, the swept side fringe tickling at my eyelashes, and acting as a protective cover when I shyed away from blunt stares. My fingers shook violently as my palm closed over the latch on the door. Taking a deep breath, I forced my body into gear and entered the office.

Tall, proud, single, and confident, I whispered to myself for motivation.

The office I stepped into screamed wealth and taste. From the expensive art on the walls, to the sweet fragrance tingling my nose.

I'm not tall, I contradicted myself. I'm not proud, far from it! And I'm over one thousand percent sure I'm the furthest person away from confident.

Those big words I forced to motervate me drained out of me the moment I crossed the threshold.

My eyes roamed and fixed on the expensive black desk right in front of me that dominated the room, but more importantly, my wide crystal blue eyes locked with the hard steel grey eyes of the man sitting behind the desk.

Diego Mendez.

The most beautiful man I'd ever laid eyes on. The most ruthless shark in all of the business branches he chose to invest in. And not only was he Spain's most notorious playboy, he was also New York's.

Fact!

Diego Mendez was, in fact, much like a shark rather than a piranah. He liked to stalk his prey. If he wanted something, he got it. God help anyone who didn't give in to him straight away. And if you dared to... be prepared to hang on to your very last cent because this man will demolish anything you owned until you signed away your soul to him.

He was a predator.

He made me burn with need every time I laid eyes on him. Every time he looked at me, I felt like a baby gazelle being stalked by a lion deciding whether he was hungry or not.

He had a stare that made you either want to bolt, or if you had the balls to, run away.

And of course, this was him when he was harmonious... or in a rare good mood. God help anyone who crossed this heartless man's path when he was frenzied.

"Ah, Buenos días, Alley." His dark, sexy voice vibrated through me like a cold caress. My body instantly hummed with sexual arousal. Oh, how he knew his spanish always made me weak at the knees.

"Hello, Diego." I whispered, glancing away from his savage stare.

His eyes blazed like a storm brewing as he took in my figure. My loose fitted jeans clung to my long legs and around my pert bottom. The plain vest top I wore from Primark covered my hour glass figure and covered the globes of my breasts. I'd never touched cosmetic surgery but the papers swear blind that I'd had a boob job - never! I kept everything God had gave me. I wore no make up on my slender face with my soft, un-interesting nose.

"I'm glad you came, Gatito." Diego murmured cunningly and seductively, staring at my parted lips. My top lip was thin and dainty, wheras my bottom lip was full but not too full. Nothing special.

"You didn't give me much choice." I replied softly, hating how he used my pet name. Kitten.

I suppose I could be a helpless kitten sometimes. I had that softness about me that allowed people to walk all over me. Especially... him.

"Sit." Diego gestured - commanded - to the black leather chair opposite the posh desk. Hmm, interesting. Every room I'd came across since I stepped into this building was a stark white. Funny how this room was almost completely black... statement maybe?

"Thank you." I replied, off hand. Carefully, I walked over to the chair and sat slowly, warily, down in it. Still, I averted his shark-like gaze.

I glanced anywhere but at him, although I could feel his eyes boaring into my face, silently trying to force me to look at him. Though the air he gave off in waves almost felt like he was pleased I didn't dare look at him. His tongue traced his bottom lip, completely taking me by surprise as my lower body ached with want.

Oh what that tongue had done to me in the past.

How could he still make her feel this way after all these years?

I chewed at my bottom lip, uncomfortable in my surroundings. Immediately, Diego's harsh eyes narrowed and focused on my bottom lip, causing me to shrink back in my seat.

A move Diego didn't miss as a small smile spread across his thin mouth. Personally, I think it gave him a small bit of joy to see me so afraid of him. Probably more afraid than anyone had ever been of him.

After all, we were treading unmarked territory.

The last time I seen this man he called me a gold digging rival, threw me out of his car, and left me in the middle of a busy street, my face flaming with embarrasment as people stared at me, thoroughly fucked Diego Mendez style.

Working up the courage, I threw off those unhappy memories and cleared my throat, nerves shooting from my body like little bolts of lightning.

"So," My barely audible voice broke the straining silence, "why am I here, Diego? It sounded important on the phone..."

"Why did you leave? That's also an important question." Diego growled, staring down at  the laptop in front of him. His eyes darkened and his eyes strained a little as he stared at something in front of him, taking up his complete attention.

... I don't think I liked that feeling, I thought as jealousy stirred in my stomach at whatever had distracted him.

A gasp escaped my lips as the words he spoke came to my sudden realization. How dare he! He threw me from his car and called me a rival! Who in their right mind would return to a broken relationship?

He broke them up.

Not her!

Memories I had buried to the deepest pits of my soul came back to haunt me in that nano-second. Before I knew it, tears began to fill my eyes. But, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing that he upset me, I blinked them away, furious.

"You know exactly what happened, you just didn't believe me. Oh and it was also the small matter of you throwing me out of your car and calling me a gold digging rival!" I growled back impatiently, mainly from the wound he'd re-opened on my soul. "What am I doing here, Diego? And just so you know if I don't get the truthful answer, I'll walk from this office and if you ever, ever contact me again I swear to god, I'll tell everyone you're stalking me!"

Diego leaned menacingly over the desk, "Don't act all high and mighty, Alley. It doesn't suit the sweet and innocent persona you're showing the world. Put your little claws away, Gatito."

Kitten! That damn nickname again!

"I don't think you or your family is in any position to make threats, Alley. Especially if it has resolved to you taking your clothes off for a living and your sister selling kiss and tell stories to the press, Querida."

He spun  his laptop around to show me what he was looking at.

I lay spread across a faux fur rug, my blonde hair spread around in soft, long curls. The lower half of my body was hidden in a sexy, teasing pose to hide my femininity. Diamonds were draped across my natural breasts, my rosey pink chest's barely visable through the glitz. My bright blue eyes appeared fairytale-like with the thick smokey eye shaddow I had on and my lips were stained with a baby pink lip gloss, my mouth falling open in welcome.

It was the lowest thing I'd ever resorted to, I admitted to myself, my face burning with shame.

... He was looking at me all that time? And here I was sitting across his desk while he perved over me.

A small part of me hoped that he was jealous that many men across America had gotten to see what Diego had seen and touched... the only man to have seen and touched.

"My family has nothing to do with this!" I replied with angry passion, hoping my eyes were blaring with heat of anger I felt. "And it's my choice and my private business on my career choice, if you don't mind."

"It's no secret that your father's company is in crisis," Diego's voice dripped with smugness. Of course he would be smug about that news. He'd been planning my fathers downfall since he made his first million.

Fury rolled off my tongue. It was no secret that my father and Diego hated each other. They were both petty and were always trying to get one over on each other. It was silly and immature.

And now, out of spite, Diego owned everything of my fathers that he had to sell off one by one. Houses, cars, hotels, investments, and lastly and most preciously, the family home. The only house my parents had bought. Most of the time they'd move from hotel to hotel as my parents hosted parties for the rich and famous.

Diego now owned the only place in the world where I felt comfortable. The only place that made me feel like my life was no longer a rollercoaster. And the one place in the world that felt like home to me

He owned everything!

And then he liquidated all of my grandfathers and great grandfathers companies that they poured their lives in to.

And a smug smile crossed his face as for the first time, I felt that Diego was happy and triumphant.

He liquidated everything except the last remaining business... the jewellery company her great, grandfather started up when he was young. The only thing my family had left. And that was hanging on by the brink.

"So you brought me here to gloat, did you?" I hissed, looking him in the eyes bravely, hoping to look as cold as he did. "That's low, Diego, even for you!"

"No," Diego's composed face became serious and down to business. "I have a proposal for you and your family."

I simply looked at him, his steel eyes cold and wary, and waited for him to continue. Nothing about this proposal could be good. Or even okay!

But the stare of his beautiful piercing eyes burning into my soul caused me to blush a little and look down as butterflies danced in my stomach. God he always managed to get my running from the lowest of the lows, to the highest of the highs. "I'll give your father enough money to get his jewellery company back off rock bottom."

"And in return?" I whispered, hope rising in my chest. I could save my father's company? If I did that then maybe I'd finally be concidered worth something to them!

"And in return you will give me an heir." Diego finished.

### Chapter 2: Billionaire Baby Deal - Chapter 1

Alley sat opposite Diego in the five star hotel, her heart thrumming loudly in her ears. Slowly, awkwardly, she played with her food in front of her - Salmon with corriander dahl and rice.

Diego's choice.

"You need to eat, Alley. It will be a tiring day tomorrow." Diego's voice cut across her mulling.

Looking up from her plate, she whispered, "Sorry."

Diego blew out a frustrated breath, took a sip of his wine and said, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Alley answered, her voice tired.

"There's obviously something wrong, Alley. You've been throwing that fish around your plate for the last ten minutes." Diego pointed out, thoroughly annoyed.

Alley didn't look up at him, nor did she even act as though she'd heard him. To other people, they wouldn't look like they were a couple trying to create a child.

In fact, tomorrow, Alley was to undertake the procedure of artificial insemination as she was very strongly against allowing Diego to have sex with her. And she looked anything but happy about that fact.

Diego didn't mind either way. He'd happily have sex with Alley if she offered it on a plate. What red blooded man on the planet wouldn't?

Instead he was conformed to getting happy in the doctors rest room to produce the golden ticket to the operation.

Alley had been under-going many different drugs to stimulate her into releasing the egg that would change and shape its way into their baby.

Tomorrow was a big day for both of them - after the initial scan to make sure a egg was definately released and ready for fertalization.

Diego was impatient for Alley to get pregnant. If this didn't work he'd move straight on to IVF and have the fertalized baby implanted in her.

Which meant Alley had to jab herself all over again with needles while taking drugs all over again.

With a pang of guilt, Diego leaned over and gently took her small hand in his larger one, "Are you okay, Alley? You can talk to me."

This caught Alley's attention. With a flash, her sparkling blue eyes met his steel grey ones. "I'm sorry,"

Diego encouragingly rubbed his thumb across her hand as he held it, revelling in the way her baby soft skin felt under his own roughened ones. "Talk to me, Alley."

"I'm okay, Diego." She replied, more automatic, knowing it was what he wanted to hear. But those eyes couldn't lie to him. Something was bothering her and as the mother of his future child, Diego took it upon himself to care for her.

"Alley, please," Diego pleased softly, "I know there's something wrong. Talk to me and tell me. Are you having second thoughts? Scared? Please, tell me."

Alley stuttered, shocked by his niceness towards her. Most of the time he was mean, silent and distant with her. On rare occassions, he was civil, if you could call this brute of a male civil. Never, never was he nice to her.

Not anymore, anyway.

When they first started dating, four years ago, he charmed her knickers right down her ankles. It was one of those situations that was so wrong it was right.

At the time.

Nobody would think that this raging male could have cupped her face tenderly as they made love. Impossible to believe that he held her to his broad chest every night, making her feel safe and secure and... loved.

Alley still remembered the way he would throw his head back and laugh good naturedly at something she'd once said. Now he'd laugh with menace. Now he'd laugh with spite and sarcasm.

What had happened to him in the last four years?

"Alley," He prompted, pulling her from her thoughts again.

"I'm just tired Diego. All these different hormones that I've been taking and all these procedures, they're playing hell with my body." Alley answered honestly, lifting her glass of orange juice to her lips and taking a sip.

"I understand it's hard, Alley. But I'm here to support you through-out the pregnancy. We need to communicate." Diego murmured, hoping to sound confident. In truth, Alley had a power over him no other woman ever had. An undescribable power that constantly shifted and changed every time he looked at her. One minute he'd be angry, the next placid, and now... nice.

Diego didn't do nice. He didn't do the whole hearts and flowers romance. And he most certainly never let anyone get close to his money or his heart.

Until Alley Knight.

"- no idea what the future holds for me," Alley murmured softly, knocking him out of his lingering thoughts.

"You know exactly what the future holds for you, Alley." Diego commented, taking another sip of wine, still holding her hand across the table. "Bearing my child. Which reminds me-" He paused and put his drink down, reaching into his jacket pocket, pulling out folded papers. "- Before we proceed with the insemination, I need you to sign these."

He handed them over to her as her face crinkled with confusion. She set her glass of orange juice down and took the papers off him, pulling her hand from his, already missing the shivers of tingles that had been pulsing through her palm from the second he touched her.

Breifly reading through the papers, she bit her lip.

"What?" Diego said, matter of factly. As though he'd handed her a tissue and not documents that signed over all her rights to the baby they would conceive.

"It says here, I won't have any contact with the baby once it is born..." Alley trailed off, thinking quick.

Oh come on, Alley! What did you expect? That you and Diego would share a baby he was paying you to have? Her concience screamed at her. Silly girl!

Alley was nothing more than a baby incubator for him. Obviously, until now, she hadn't really thought about the little life they were creating tomorrow.

All of Alley's thoughts based around her family and how happy they would be from being bailed out of almost bankrupsy.

"Of course, I assumed contact would be difficult for you. After all, the baby will be living on Isle Lujo, and you will be living in England with your family." Diego replied, once again matter of fact. As though they were discussing the weather.

Alley shook her head, "I'm sorry, Diego, but I don't think I've thought this through..."

"Don't back out on me now, Alley." Diego warned, a small glint of anger in his eyes. He was like a rubber band, stretching to being nice and then snapping back in to a cool, cold Diego that everyone knew and feared.

Alley's mouth went dry and the tears threatened to over flow. The thought of not being with this baby that didn't even exist yet, made her gut wrench and her soul burn. "I want to see my baby."

"That wasn't in the agreement." Diego bit out. "This baby needs a stable life, not fliting from one country to the other, constantly between parents."

"This baby will need a mother." Alley bit back, noticing the people around the restaraunt began to stare at them.

Diego growled low in his throat, "And my son will have a mother when I decide to marry."

A tear dropped down Alley's cheek, and she noticed Diego focus on it run down her cheek, to the base of her throat.

And then Alley looked at this man and she realized that it wasn't too late to back out, back out of everything.

If needs be, she'd sell more glamour shoots to the lads mags to keep the business going.

And on that thought, Alley's soul hardened and gave her the strength to lean forward and look Diego Mendez in the eyes and growl her own words. "I won't be your baby incubator, Diego. I want an active part in my childs life. I want my baby!"

Alley flung the papers back at Diego and shoved her chair back, storming out of the restaraunt without a backward glance.

Until Diego's firm palm wrapped around her arm and dragged her around to face him.

"You can't back out, Alley!"

Alley raged, "I already have backed out!"

"Please, Alley!" Diego's voice was an inch from begging. "You don't know what this will do to me!"

Alley looked him deep in his grey eyes and asked the question that burned through her, "Why do you even want a baby anyway, Diego? You don't fool me as the kind that will get up every few hours to see to a screaming baby, or change nappies - or even hold a baby for that matter!"

Diego looked away from her, fighting with his inner self to tell her - or not to tell her.

Eventually his grey eyes locked on her blue ones, holding them hostage. "My mother is sick."

Alley knew to her very bone marrow that he was telling her thr truth, for Diego Mendez could never look so cut up.

"She's dying, Alley. And her only wish before she leaves this earth is to hold her first grand child. I will give her that, Alley." Diego's voice turned hoarse and uncontrolled. The first time Alley ever heard this man speak so... humanly.

"Oh, Diego..." Alley's heart wrenched for him.

"I need this baby, Alley." He whispered, stroking her hair behind her ear. "I need it as soon as I possibly can so that my mother can die a happy woman with her dying wish granted."

"I will need my baby, too." Alley whispered, "to not see it... It will kill me, Diego. Knowing that I gave a part of myself up. That I'd miss out on all those amazing memories and never be able to get them back."

Diego sighed, "It was wrong of me assume you wouldn't care, Alley. Don't back out on me now, please."

Alley couldn't blink back the tears anymore, and so she let them flow. "I can't not have my baby with me, Diego."

"What if I offered you a different proposal?"

"I'm not giving my child up, Diego." Alley replied, her voice firm.

"You won't have to." Diego assured, holding on to her arm for dear life. "Live on Isle Lujo with us. I'll pay your family what you owe, but you can be free of them as well, Alley. I swear the baby will be within walking distance and you can come and visit any time you like."

"And the baby can also sleep at mine on weekends." Alley added, the glint in her eyes promising she won't back down.

"Fine," Diego subsided, "but he will only stay at yours once my mother is no longer. Until she passes we both agree she gets to spend however much time she likes with the child - whenever she likes."

"Agreed, but the child will know I'm its mother and I will have my say in things as well. I refuse to be a ghost in my childs life."

"Agreed, we will decide together what is best for our child."

"Fine." Alley agreed, far happier. "Draw the contract up stating what we've just discussed and I'll sign."

"Good." Diego agreed, nodding. His composure returned like the snap of a rubber band once again.

He was back  to Mr. Cool.

"I won't have none of your sperm assaulting my eggs until I've seen that contract and I'm happy with it," Alley added, turning to hail a taxi.

Diego's lips curved into a crooked smile as he took in the sway of her hips, sexily shaped by a pair of jegging that had slices down the sides of mouth watering thighs, down the curves of her shapely legs, and ended with a pair of sexy suade black ankle boots. She wore a loose plum vest top that outlined the gorgeous shape of her hour glass figure, her breasts nestled deliciously in the curve of the vest top, hinting just enough to let a man know that those babies were not pancakes.

Diego's pulse quickened.

No! He shouldn't have feelings for this woman! He refused to have feelings for this woman!

"Good night, Señor Mendez." Alley called over her shoulder as she dipped into the taxi.

"Call me when you're home." Diego called back, pulling his phone out to tell his driver to pull the car around. "Buenas noches, Gatito. Sueñas conmigo."

Good night, kitten. Dream of me.
