Kabir Malhotra ,28 , is one of the CEO of MALHOTRA INDUSTRIES .
He is happy , had a very loving family and bestfriends .
And he was a guy who hated the idea of Arrange marriages .

She stopped talking to her sister due to a incident in her past .

### Chapter 2: CHAPTER 1

"Bhaiya yeh lights yaha lagana waha par nai", I said to the worker who was incharge of the lighting and then went on to find Naina so that we both can see the arrangments for the final time.
[Trans:Brother put up these lights here not there]
"Aree Anika why are you still here go and get ready",Meena aunty said as she came towards me .
"No aunty I will after the arrangements are done",I said .
"Barat will arrive in 2 hours ",Meena aunty said .
"Aunty don't worry we will get ready after everything is arranged ",Naina said carrying 4 boxes in here hands and then placing it on the table behind me .
"Naina even you haven't got ready ?",Meena aunty asked in dis-belief .
"We will go aunty after we are done looking at the arrangements",I said .
"Yes and everything is done we just need to double check",Naina said .
"We want everything to be perfect",I said .
"Aakhir hamari bestfriend ki jo shaadi hai ", Me and Naina said in unsion making Meena aunty smile .
[Trans: Afterall it is our bestfriend's wedding]
"Okay you both win but check everything quickly and go and get ready okay ? And tell Aryan also to check the arrangements along with you two it will be easy ",Meena aunty said .
"Yeah we will and don't let Ishika know that we aren't ready yet ",I said .
"Yeah Otherwise she will throw a fit",Naina said making Meena aunty chuckle .
"Don't worry I won't ",with that she left .
Ishika Sharma mine and Naina's bestfriend was getting married to her long time college boyfriend Karan Gupta today . Ishika and Karan had revealed to their family that they were dating after been in a relationship for 3 years .
And since last year both Agrawal and Gupta family have been telling Ishika and Karan to get married . And when the news came to both the families that Karan had finally proposed Ishika for marriage the families were euphoric to the extent that they wanted to throw a party . I am Glad Ishika and Karan stopped them .
"Ani you are wearing the green one lehenga na ?",Naina asked as we enter the guest room we were staying in after double checking the arrangements .
"Yes I'm ",I told her .
Quickly wearing our lehenga's we both do each others hairstyles and makeup . And we were ready for our Bestfriend's Marriage .

"Let's go and meet Ishika barat will come in 30 minutes",I said .
"Okay let's go ",Naina said .
"Anika",Naina calls out my name making me stop . I turn around to look back at her .
"Yes?".
"You are okay na ?",she asked . I know why was she asking me this .
"Yes I'm don't worry",I assure her giving her a smile .
"Ani sure na ?",she asked again .
"Yes Naina I'm sure don't worry let's go before Ishika murder us",I tried to joke .

"Ohh ho Karan toh aaj tere upar se nazare hata hi nai payenga ", I said making Naina and Ishika Giggle .
[Trans: Today Karan won't be able to take his eyes off you]
"I'm looking good na ?",Ishika asked standing up from her chair .
(Ishika's wedding lehenga)
"Good? you are looking beautiful",I said .
"Yeah and I can't believe one of us is getting married today ",Naina said dramatically wiping her fake tears .
"Don't be dramatic ",Ishika said .
"Whatever let's take photos before we take you to the mandap",Naina said.
"Yeah let's take it quickly",Ishika said .
"Wait where is Aditi ?",Ishika asked.
"I'm here ",Aditi said as she comes inside the room .
"Oh ho Ishu Di looking very pretty",She said .
"Thankyou Aditi",Ishika thanks her.
Aditi Ahuja my younger sister . Even though she was 2 years younger than us she is still a part of our friends group . And after mine and her misunderstanding in the past she still continued to be a part of our group . The only thing is we both don't talk .
God knows how many photos we might have taken . And moreover I pity Ishika's cousin sister who was trapped because of us as we had told her to take our photos .
"Okay so we will come back to take you after Karan get's settled in the mandap",I said .
"Okayy ",Ishika said .
"Anika , Naina , Aditi ",Ishika said making us stop .
"Yes?",me Naina and Aditi say in unsion .
"I'm nervous ",She said .
"Everybody feels nervous don't worry once you will be standing beside Karan all your nervousness will go away",I said and gave her a smile .
"Thankyou so much ",Ishika said .
"No need ",I said and smiled at her .
"Oh Meena Aunty is calling me I will come back again to take you to the mandap",Aditi said leaving the room.
"Anika",Ishika said .
"Are you okay ?",she asked looking at me .
Her and Naina's reason for asking me the question was same .
"I'm okay don't worry I told Naina the same don't worry about me .This is your big day enjoy it instead of worrying about me I'm fine believe me ",I said smiling .
Was I okay ? No , I was not okay I have been controlling myself from breaking down since Ishika and Karan's wedding functions started and today I was controlling hard . I don't want Ishika or Naina to worry about me . I don't want to spoil Ishika's mood because of me , today it was her big day .

"Barat aa gayi , Barat aa gayi " , A small boy came running inside . After making the announcement he quickly went outside again .
[Trans:Barat came, Barat came]
[Barat- The groom comes on a horse with music and his relatives and friends come dancing with the groom]
I passed Meena Aunty the Thali and I stood on her right side while Naina stood on her left side .
There was Karan sitting on the horse while his relatives and friends came dancing .
The music was getting slowed down and then it eventually stopped .
Karan got off the horse and then stood infront of Meena Aunty .
He touched her feet and then Meena aunty welcomed his family and friends.
While she was welcoming them I saw Naina shooting daggers at Laksh while Aditi who was standing beside Naina shooting daggers at Anuj.
And I knew very well why they were doing so . My eyes landed on Kabir Malhotra who was already looking at me smirking .
And not only Kabir , Laksh and Anuj were also smirking at us .
I very well knew the reason behind their smirk .
These guys on the mehendi day told us that they won't let us take away Karan's shoes and then we three told them that we won't let them to protect Karan's shoes .
And that's it the challenge was on .
Though we were being silly but what's fun in an Indian wedding if the bride and groom's side don't fight for the groom's shoes ?

"Please bring the bride",the pandit ji says and me , Naina , Aditi go to Ishika's room to bring her to the mandap .
"Let's go it's time",Aditi says entering her room .
We walked down the stairs and her 4 brothers stood their waiting for her .
And she stood inside the flowers with me , Naina , Aditi and her cousin sister Smriti who took our photos surrounding her .
(A/N - I forgot what do we call this ? I mean the thing which the bride walkes in Pls someone tell me )
Karan had a warm and loving smile on his face as he kept looking at Ishika . And I was right he was not even able to take his eyes off her .
Ishika was now standing beside Karan who still couldn't take his eyes off her .
"Oye Karan baad mai dekh lena jitna dekhna hai pehle shaadi toh khatam hone de ", Laksh shouted making all the guests burst into laughter .
[Karan look at ger later first let the wedding end]
Karan glared at one of his bestfriend while Ishika giggled .
The wedding started soon and I kept looking at Ishika and Karan while some past memories started coming back.
"So Miss.Anika are you ready for stealing the shoes?",Kabir whisperes in my ear . I come back from my thoughts and looked at him .
He was now standing right beside me .
"Oh yeah very much ready Mr.Kabir",I said giving him a tight lipped smile .
"Oh really but it dosen't seems so",he said .
"What do you mean ?",I asked .
He points at the place where Karan's shoes were but my eyes widen when I don't see Karan's shoes that means Laksh , Anuj and Him had already hid the shoes .
"You already hid the shoes no way!",I whisper yell at him .
"Oh yeah I stole it while you were zoned out",he said with a foolish grin on his face .
I tell Naina that those guys had already hid the shoes and Naina tells this to Aditi .
"Pheras ke liye time hai tab tak chal dhunte hai ", I say .
[Trans: There is still time for pheras let's go and find the shoes till that time]
"Oh Ani the shoes aren't on the ground floor",Naina tells .e .
"I checked each and every corner",Aditi said .
"So it must be on first floor",I said .
"Yeah let's go and find on first floor",Naina said ..
We were about to go when Smriti came .
"Kya kar rahe ho aap log?", she asks .
[Trans: what are you guys doing?]
"Kabir , Laksh and Anuj already hid the shoes ",I told her .
"We can find it later the pheras are gonna start come on ",she said .
We rush towards the mandap to not miss the pheras .
When the pheras were going on Naina stood beside me and held my hand tightly to which I just gave her a smile .
After the pheras were done Karan tied the nupital chain around her neck and filled her hair partition with vermillion .
And the wedding was done .
"Let's go and find the shoes now",Aditi came and along with Smriti we left to find the shoes .
"Dhund lo jitna dhundna hai shoes nai milenge ", a voice said behind us as we were trying to find the shoes . .
[Trans : Find how much you want to find but you won't find the shoes]
I turned around to see who it was and it was none other that Laksh.
" Oye hume underestimate mat kar", Naina said as she stands folding her arms and shooting daggers at Laksh .
[Trans:Don't try to underestimate us]
"Dekh lenge kaise dhunte ho toh", Anuj said .
[Trans:we will see how will you find it]
"Tum toh chup hi raho", Aditi said .
[Trans: You shut up ]
"Pehle dhund ke toh dekho shoes ko phir jo bolna hai bolna hume", and this time it was Kabir speaking .
[Trans:First try to find the shoes then say whatever you want to say to us]
"Ha toh dhund lenge na tum chinta mat karo uski ", I speak this time .
[Trans:Yes we will find don't worry about it ]
The boys stand there while we 4 try to find the shoes .
We still weren't able to find when something clicks in my mind .
I run towards the second floor . Kabir might have realised it that I figured out where the shoes might be so he runs behind me .
Opening the storeroom door I switched on the lights and found the shoes kept on the upper part of a shelf .
Taking the chair which was inside the storeroom I stand on it and I found the shoes ! .
Taking the shoes with me I was about to get down but Kabir was here already not allowing me to come down .
"No Not that easily",He said
"We won now let me go",I said .
"We can still win",he said .
"I won't let that happen",I said and was about to get down but my leg slipped .
I close my eyes and was ready to feel the impact of the floor but I didn't fall
Opening my eyes I found myself in Kabir's arms . He held me by my waist while my hands were on his chest the shoes fallen on the floor .
He was staring at me and I stared back at him .
God knows how much time we were staring into each others eyes but when I hear the footsteps coming towards us I quickly went out off his hold .
Quickly picking up both the shoes I managed to run from there . Aditi , Naina , Smriti , Laksh and Anuj were about to come .
When I see them I hand the shoes to Naina and she run's away from there along with Aditi and Smriti with Laksh and Anuj running behind them .
When Kabir comes out from the storeroom my eyes widen in realisation that what just happened in there .
It was years ago when I was this much close to a man .
I quickly run away from him also .
Reaching downstairs I see Smriti seating on a chair exhausted while Naina , Aditi running while Laksh and Anuj were chasing them . The guests along with Ishika and Karan were quite enjoying the show infront of them .
When Naina saw me she passed on the shoes to me and tells me to run from their I do and that's when Laksh and Anuj tells Kabir who just came downstairs to chase me and take away the shoes . The 4 of them got exhausted too .
"Okay I give up ",Kabir said rasing his hands in surrender .
"Yeah we give up ",Anuj and Laksh said too
"Yeah we won",me , Aditi and Naina said in unsion making the guests laugh.

It was time for the Kaleera ritual.
(Kaleeras are a fairly common sight in north Indian weddings. The long gold ornaments hanging off a bride's wristsare hard to miss. ... After the ceremony is over, the bride tries to drop a kaleera on the heads of her bridesmaids. If it drops on someone, this person is supposed to be the next in line to get married.)
Even though it it mostly happens in North Indian weddings Ishika wanted to do this ceremony in her wedding .
As she only had one sister that was Smriti she sat first . Ishika and Smriti were the only girls in her fathers side of family and she had a real brother and 1 brother from her fathers side and 2 brothers from her mothers side . She only had few relatives .
It didn't drop on Smriti's head . Then Aditi sat it didn't drop on her head too and same happened with Naina it didn't drop on her too .
It was finally my turn . As much as I didn't want to sit but I had too .
I thought as it didn't fall on three of them it wouldn't fall on me .
But the Kaleera fell on me .

It was a pretty unusual first chapter as Kabir and Anika already had there first close moment .
But you will then get to know why their moments were shown in first chapter . I had a purpose behind it .
