Nicola McLean, who modelled for Page 3 and men's magazines through the 2000s and later appeared on I'm A Celebrity and Celebrity Big Brother, told The Sun she was "shocked" and found the remarks "extremely offensive". "Glamour models can't be tarred with the same brush," she said, calling it "a dream job" and saying she "never once thought of the male gaze". She added that Street-Porter "obviously didn't mean me personally" and that she is still a fan of hers.

McLean's sharper point was about today's platforms. She said 1990s glamour shoots were "a very safe environment" in her experience, while subscription sites can push creators "further and further" when income drops: "the money stops, and you go, 'Right, I need to go one further'. And that is where it gets dangerous." She also said she is not minimising other models' bad experiences.
